1.2 trillion more we owe the Chinese

Shockingly the money we allowed Obama to have with the earlier debt limit raising wasn't enough. To compound that ignorance and stupidity by McConnell and Boehner we can't stop or make a public spectacle about Obama asking for another 1.2 trillion in debt limit increase.

Rick and Newt both out in VA

Well this is depressing. Not so much from the fact that I wanted either of them to win, however more from the concept of now we only have Mittens and Ron Paul on the ballot in VA. That as Hot Air says is enough to make you want to indulge in some seriously hard liquor.

Liberalism vs Conservatism: What does it all mean?

Let me start by saying that I'm sure that we here at The Handbook are not the first ones to say what I am about to say, but I would like to say it in my own way. The concept of liberal vs conservative can be boiled down to one thing: Emotions.

Liberals are obsessed with them. It drives every thought process they have, every government intervention into your life that they desire, and every aspect of their lives, not to mention how they want to us it to control yours. Think about it, they tell you that we need one thing or another "for the kids" or "for your health" or "so everyone gets a fair deal" see its all built to play off of your emotions. Now that being said I do not believe their total goal is to make you get a warm and fuzzy inside. Their entire goal is to get power so that they can control your life and show you how much smarter they are than you.

When a bill gets passed by a state gov or the fed gov that does something that is suppose to keep you healthy, like your kids have to eat tofu every day at lunch, they really don't give a damn about your kids. Well if your kid is a homosexual, minority they do, other than that they are just trying to control your life that much further, but they are going to use your emotions to try to get you to go along with them.  Oh you can't find a job for almost 2 years because we keep screwing up everything that would allow jobs to grow? Well don't worry about it, my lazy friend, soon we are going to make sure that you and everyone like you get to keep your UI for as long as you need it. See emotions.

How can all those mean angry conservatives talk about splitting up all these hard working immigrant families just to send some of them back to Mexico because they crossed some line on a map and stole jobs. Granted there are rules and regulations and processes for them to come here legally but we can't be wasting that kind of time. We need them here and now. Because after all who else is going to vote for all those handouts.

Like I said everything a liberal tells you is designed to pull at your heart strings.

Now compare that to conservatives. Yes some things we do have parts based on emotion. However what we don't do is make every decision based on emotion. Most of it is based on common sense. The fact that our programs and ideas will help more people than any heart string gov handout just happens to be lagniappe (extra).

If anyone disagrees with me let me know.

Dear Leader Dead

So while reading Fox News this morning I find out that Kim Jong IL died today. What does that mean for both North Korea and the rest of the world. Kim Jong Un, the third son has already been tabbed as the heir apparent, so the question becomes what exactly do we know about Jong Un. Is he as crazy as "Dear Leader" was? Personally I don't know.

Keystone XL Pipeline

So with the passage of the extension for UI benefits and the Payroll tax cut for two months. The GOP managed to not screw it up and get the Keystone XL pipeline in the bill.

Destroying the Left's Voter ID myths Part II

As promised here are the numbers for Indiana. As stated in the previous post only GA and IN had voter ID laws in the 2008 election year so I am using the numbers from 2004 and 2008 to prove that requiring ID in order to participate in elections DOES NOT suppress turnout, nor does it disenfranchise voters.

So here are the numbers. Unfortunately I can't find the numbers on the IN SOS site like I was able to for GA that broke them down by race and age, so these are the total numbers based on Race alone in IN. The only place that I was able to find this information was the William C. Velasquez Institute webpage. This is the link for the IN breakdown.

2004        Reg            Reg %        Turn out        TO %
Blacks - 229,000       62.2%         198,000       86.5%

Latino -  57,000         48.3%         41,000         71.9%

2008
Blacks - 228,000       63.3%         219,000       96.1%

Latino - 45,000          44.1%          36,000        80%

So as you can see yes, there were fewer latinos registered to vote in 2008, however a higher percentage of the registered ones showed up to vote. While the black population lost a thousand registered voters 21,000 new voters showed up during the 2008 election. Since minorities and old people were suppose to be the most affected by this why did more of them show up? And why have more of them registered?

Destroying the Left's Voter ID myths

So I read and posted about the articles talking about how Mickey Mouse and Adolf Hitler's signatures would be accepted on the Scott Walker recall petition unless they were individually challenged. We can get into the idea of common sense and personal responsibility, but something tells me that it would be a foolish fight. You can't argue with leftist any more than you can argue with the brick wall in front of me. That being said this is one that I just couldn't resist. Usually I just give everyone the gist of whats going on and a quick breakdown of my feelings/ideas. Well today I actually went and did research. What I found is enough to make every liberal squirm and scream bloody murder. I'm actually looking forward to it.

Proof that Scott Walker is doing a good job.

In Wisconsin Scott Walker has endeared himself to conservatives, fought against Unions, saved a failing government budget and made multiple school districts solvent for the first time in who knows how long. But not every is excited about the changes that he has made to the gov.

Ron Paul in Iowa

I'm not really going to delve into the concept of "could" Ron Paul win Iowa. Frankly it's a caucus and no one is better organized or has more of a rabid fan base. But my real question comes from the intrigue that Hot Air threw into my mind when I was reading this post.

House Introduces No Confidence Bill for Eric Holder

Rep Paul Gosar (AZ-R) filed H. Res 490 which is a bill to force a vote of No Confidence in Attorney General Eric Holder. This should be the first step towards impeaching and removing what could possibly be the worst and least effective Attorney General in the history of this country. That being said, does this mean that they had confidence in him prior to Fast and Furious?

Further Proof we need drug testing of members of Congress

Today in a story in the Daily Caller and paraphrased in Hot Air. Rep Hank Johnson (D-GA) decided to prove to everyone out there that Congress has to be stoned. In what can only be described as the guy who drew the short straw to try and merge the NRA and Tea Party to Fast and Furious, he made this brilliant quote:

Your 5 year old will learn about transgender problems in school

Well if your like me and stuck in the UK then your child will. We apologize to those in the other countries that saw this and had a massive spike in their blood pressure. Apparently in the UK it's a big enough problem that something called transphobic bullying needs to be stomped out now. And how do you figure the liberals of England decide to do it? Well by teaching your five year old of course.

My apologies for my absence

I would like to thank the people who have continued to read this while I have been away. Once I get my computer working again I'll be back and The Handbook will be back up and running at full strength.

Thanks for your patience

Did you know driving will lower your chance of being a virgin?

According to Saudi Arabia allowing women to drive in that country would ‘provoke a surge in prostitution, pornography, homosexuality and divorce’. And that within 10 years there would be no more virgins in the Kingdom.

I still haven't managed to make the 7 degrees of Bacon connection on this one. It is above my mental capacity I guess. As Hot Air said it may make insurance premiums go up and create individual mandates but homosexuality? Really?

I'm so confused by this.. I thought cars were your sense of freedom, made you feel young.. not make you wanna play for the other team.

Herman Cain Announcement Today

So Herman Cain is going to make a big announcement today. Is it that he's getting out of the race? I don't know. Hot Air thinks he might be, but also has a lot of clues to make you think he might not be.

At this point who knows other than Herman Cain himself.

Either way once an announcement is made I'll keep you updated.

ACLU pissed Siri doesn't give directions to abortion clinics

Apple and in particular Siri are the newest targets of the ACLU and abortion rights wackos. They are pissed because the I-phone personal assistant will not give you directions to your nearest baby murder factory.

Congress Calls Obamas Bluff

I was going to write about this a couple of days ago. Then my computer decided that it no longer wanted to cooperate with me at all. After multiple sayings that can't be repeated and blue screens a plenty I managed to get it back late yesterday.

Now on to the problems. The House and Senate both passed a 662 billion dollar defense bill that normally would just sail through and become law. But this one has a problem that Obama just cant stand the thought of. It requires that anyone caught and admits to affiliation to Al Quaeda or other terrorist organization instantly becomes property of the U.S. Military, even if they are US citizens. This waives their rights to trials and opens them up to indefinite detention.

Obama, Panetta, and every civil rights group out there hates it. That tells me it probably is a good plan. Although i do understand the slippery slope argument for the citizens captured and held indefinitely.

The Senate voted 92-7 for it, not sure about the house vote yet, but it seems like it would veto proof as well. Now all that has to happen is the bills to be combined and sent to his desk.

Al Queda with US Hosatge?

Possibly. Per Fox News Ayman Al-Zawahiri released a video statement that saying that Warren Weinstein would be released once US strikes on Afghan, Pakistan, Somolia, and Yemen.

Camp Victory now in Iraqi hands

As of today Camp Victory now belongs completely to the Iraqi government. The base that we built to house military leadership throughout the Iraqi war was turned over with no fan fare, no ceremony, just the signings of some paperwork similar to that of  closing on a house.

Why does GOP leadership hate us?

I ask this question not from one particular incident but from the conglomeration of everything they have done to stab us in the back. From the days of GWB's congress runaway spending that only got worse under democratic control to the most recent lie they told us about no omni-bus bills.

Thursday, December 1, 2011

See Boehner has no backbone or principals

This from Fox News.
In a turn of events that will surprise absolutely no one. Speaker John Boehner is probably going to side with Dems and pass an Omni-bus CR since the gov will run out of money come Dec 16.

I am shocked I tell you, Shocked, Speechless even.

Schumer Believes D will pick up seats in '12

Senator Chuck Schumer is either high on something or is seriously trying to convince himself its not as bad it's gonna be. In an interview with The Hill he claimed that Democrats not only will hold their majority in the Senate but expand their lead.

Apparently Congress does feel shame

I guess there is even an amount of public intrusion and knowledge into their secret lives that will make Congress at least try to give the impression of acting responsibly. Peter Schweizer's book "Throw Them all Out" apparently caused enough of a problem for congressional image that a Democrat from NY none the less introduced a bill called the STOCK (Stop Trading On Congressional Knowledge) Act and already has 127 cosponsors.

Louisiana and Indiana denied Obamacare waivers

At first read of Michelle Malkins piece from yesterday about Indiana and Louisiana being denied Obamacare waivers I was inclined to agree with her. Her point about other states with Republican Governors receiving waivers made sense. Then I thought about it a little more.

Could a Bloomberg run guarantee Repub Victory?

Ed Morrissey recently wrote a column talking about possible third party candidate runs in The Week. He talked about a possible Ron Paul and Sara Palin run but the last name that he brought up made me think a little bit. He touched on a Bloomberg independent run. Could it happen? Who knows, the man definitely has the money to make a run in the Perot style. The real question becomes would it make a difference?

Sorry Ann but your WRONG!

I'd say about 90% of the time I truly enjoy and agree with what Ann Coulter writes. However, her latest article makes me think she might have hit the eggnog a bit early this year. Ann tries to convince us with missives about Newt's unelectability that Mittens is the only logical choice. Not only that but he is destined to become the nominee.

Britain on Strike today

So the Unions here in England are what the Unions in America want to become. Completely in power and unquestioned. Well it looks like they got questioned by the government here.

I am actually here and this is actually affecting my life. Due to the brilliance in union leadership approximately 2 million workers are on strike for today, including teachers. So because of this my child does not get to go to school today to further her education. Is it just one day, sure, but that is beside the point.

Kid named Jihad in Germany

Ok so the story is a muslim woman named Elfi Yaghi who weighs close to 600 550 pounds named her 13 pound newborn Jihad. She has 13 kids already and names the largest baby ever born in Germany Jihad. No nothing going on there. Lets see she was told she had gestational diabetes during pregnancy but didn't exactly follow doctors orders on her diet during the pregnancy. So now she has a 13 pound slap in the face to the western world.

Best thing is at some point the German government is going to have to pay for this fat womans medical bills, or to cut the wall out of her house when she does decide to move.

#1 Reason to make sure GOP doesn't screw up in the House

Quite simple actually. If for some reason the GOP snatches defeat from the jaws of victory and loses the house. (which lets be honest, with this cast of characters isn't completely out of the realm). Guess who gets to head up the banking committee? If you guess Maxine Waters you win the door prize.

CNN tries to make you feel bad for illegals

I think I vaguely remember this story from a few months ago. Of course back then I would have felt the exact same way that I do now. "Oh well sucks to be you."

American Airlines files Bankruptcy

According to Fox Business American Airlines has filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy protection. This was the only airliner that hadn't filed for bankruptcy in the last 10 years and as such was apparently working with higher operating costs than the others due mostly to personnel and pension costs.

No services will be affected during the restructuring according to the incoming CEO Thomas Horton. If you had a flight reserved, I guess that means you still have a flight. Which would be a good thing.

Iran Protestors attack British Embassy

Apparently the Iranians are none to happy with the British right now. I guess the imposition of new sanctions against the Iranian regime have upset the Iranian people as they are now storming the British Embassy. More to follow here at Hotair.

Once everything sorts out I'll be back with some of our lame attempts at understand and explaining what happened.

UPDATE: According to Hotair at the time the riot police were standing by and doing nothing. Well I guess they finally figured out why they were there because Fox News is reporting that the situation was back under control about 2 hours after it started.

Newts Plans for parts of the Drug War

Newt was at the Books-a-Million in Naples Fl on Fri where he met approximately 650 fans and a few reporters. The interview that he gave to Chris Moody of Yahoo revealed some very interesting nuggets and might have the very basis of why Newt might be able to sew up the nomination by being Not Mitt Romney.

UPDATED: A Mea Culpa and the last Herman Cain Post

We here at The Handbook thought we were on to something. We had found a guy with a good business acumen and apparent set of principled beliefs that we thought we could get behind. For a while the ride was a fun one. Then the first allegations came of the sexual harassment. Those didn't seem to hurt him at first until they continued to pile up. Now comes the newest story that he had a 13 year affair with a woman.

UPDATED: Barney Frank to go the way of the Dodo

All of Most of my prayers have been answered. Well those pertaining to congress anyway. Ted Kennedy is no longer in Congress we put a Republican (at least in name) in his seat and now Barney Frank finally gets out of dodge. It might be a good year yet.

NH and the sane

About 10 days ago we here at The Handbook asked the question of could Mitt Romney lose NH. We did it based off of some polling that we had seen at various other blogs and such forth. Now getting closer we realize that even with the Union Leader endorsement Mittens is probably a lock for NH.

This is a problem. He would be a terrible candidate and an even worse president. Redstate made a point that if Romney does win then basically the entire campaign is going to be trying to paint him as John Kerry. That makes perfect sense. Idiot pol from Mass that can't seem to make up his mind about anything or take a stand on any position. Sounds awfully familiar to Kerry. Add to that the fact that Obamacare was based on Romneycare and you have even more things for O to piss off the conservative base with and make sure that he gets four more years of Hope to Change our country to a third world country.

Now surprisingly the one thing that Romney won't back away from is Romneycare. Which to be honest with you it seems to be the one thing that he is willing to stand on. Granted it's not like he can hide from it, but basically it tells us every thing we need to know about him. The only thing he's willing to stake out a position on that won't change is the fact we need more government in our lives.

Ohio joining the sane and becoming a Right to Work state?

Pjmedia is reporting that there is a signature petition out there right now to change the state constitution to become a Right to work state. The legislature would state in part

  • “No law, rule, agreement, or arrangement shall require any person or employer to become or remain a member of a labor organization.”
  • “No law, rule, agreement, or arrangement shall require, directly or indirectly, as a condition of employment, any person or employer, to pay or transfer any dues, fees, assessments, other charges of any kind, or anything else of value, to a labor organization, or third party in lieu of the labor organization.”

It's possible I guess. Although seeing how the last attempt at curtailing unions went down in a smoldering pile in Ohio turned out I'm not that sure.

PJmedia believes that waiting on this until 2013 might work out better in regard to the POTUS election so that there isn't a crazed union movement getting people out to vote to shoot this down and ultimately giving Obama Ohio.

While I believe that any attempt on anything reducing union power would be met with screams and alot of money in ads I'm not completely sold that this wouldn't pass. The reason is this doesn't take away the current union negotiating capability. Granted it would cost them some money in dues and we all know how they react to that concept. But I believe this falls closer along the lines of the Individual Mandate amendment that did pass in being simply about personal choice and freedom.

Of course we at The Handbook reserve the right to retract everything said here if proven to be wrong, or claim that it was completely taken out of context.

Enlightening speech on C-Span

Sitting at work yesterday one of the few channels that I have available to me is C-Span. Most of the time it takes about 10 minutes before I'm bored and have on. However a speech that was given by Congressman Rob Woodhall (R-GA 7th) I found extremely interesting.

Most of what I found interesting was the back and forth between him and Rep Steve King (R-IA 5th) about tax rates and hidden taxes. We'll get to that in a minute though.

Could Romney lose NH?

In my sporadic watching of news lately apparently there was a seismic shift that I can honestly say that I didn't see coming. When the Cain problems started I wasn't sure who would pick up his supporters but to be honest I never really thought that it could be Newt. Turns out I was probably pretty wrong.

According to a poll from Magellan Strategies in NH, Newt and Romney are now both virtually tied. With Mittens having 29% and Newt right behind at 27%. This is pretty impressive. I still want to see at least one more poll show this just to back it up, but if it's true. Oh the happiness. Mittens entire campaign I believe has always been to have a decent showing in Iowa then storm through NH, and build that air of invincibility. Well if he loses both or just barely covers in NH. Then what?

Combine this with the polls that came out showing Newt in or near the front in IA and you have something that I'm sure the Romney campaign never saw coming. Let's be honest here, none of us really saw Newt's rise coming. His baggage is suppose to be what prevents him from winning right. Well maybe this idea he has of coming out with all of it and laying it on the table is working. Now we get to see what happens when the oppo research really kicks into high gear on him.

Personally I think that the fav/unfav on Newt is pretty impressive in this poll. 59/31 with only 10 saying they don't have an opinion.

One other thing. Only Ron Paul, Newt, and Mitt Romney have favorable ratings. Everyone else is underwater, with the worst being Rick Perry at 21/66/12.

Obligatory,,, Bullets flyin at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

According to a story on Fox News two bullets were found by the Secret Service at the White House. One had broken a glass before the safety features kicked in. The other was found outside, although it doesn't specify if it was found in the wall or anything like that. So I guess the slug was just laying on the ground or something.

Wearing US Flag T-shirt Offensive and Banned....... IN AMERICA!!

Apparently when I didn't keep up over the last week or so I missed something pretty important. At some point a school principal decided that a t-shirt with the American Flag was offensive, or could be offensive on Cinco-de-Mayo. So he banned US Flag shirts on that day. WTF?

And there is a judge out there dumb enough to agree with him.

Hermain Cains Fall?

Herman Cain apparently doesn't like us here at The Handbook. Since our backing of him he seems to have gone out of his way to completely destroy his candidacy. Or maybe it's the Democratic Machine that hates us. Then again it could all possibly be coincidence.

Apologies from the Handbook

I usually try to make sure at least something gets put up here everyday. Over the last few days I've been a little busy with work and everything else and this just fell by the wayside. For all three of you who read this we at The Handbook apologize.

Add to that I really just haven't felt like doing it lately and you get what you have since the last time I posted which is nothing. But have no fear I am in the process of getting some stuff up. And soon I'll talk about what is appearing to become a disastrous backing of Herman Cain, the fact that we've proved what we always knew that congress considers themselves above the laws the pass for the rest of us, and a sudden rise from the person that I thought could make a good candidate but had too much baggage in Newt Gingrich. Oh and Perry's failure during the debate to remember the DOE and how that probably killed his chances.

So stay tuned some things will be up soon.

Horror in Happy Valley

For those of you who dont know we here at The Handbook are what you could call football fanatics. College football being no exception. While our hearts here are always behind LSU, the news coming out of Penn State over the last few days is absolutely horrifying.

For those of you who don't know Jerry Sandusky used to be the defensive coordinator and heir apparent to Joe Paterno, the winningist coach in college football history. Then this Sunday the news broke that he had molested at least 9 young boys in the last decade or so. The biggest problem for Penn State is that at least one of the attacks on a 10 year old boy took place in the locker room on campus. This was also witnessed by one of the graduate assistants named Mike McQueary who then decided to simply call his father, and leave the boy on his own while being raped by a 50 year old pedophile. He later reported this to Paterno who felt his only obligation was to report it to his boss. The problem is that this took place in 2002 and as the grand jury report states:

“a naked boy… whose age he estimated to be ten years old, with his hands up against the wall [of a shower], being subjected to anal intercourse by a naked Sandusky.”  After discussing with his father what he had witnessed, McQueary “went to Paterno’s home, where he reported what he had seen.”

As a father and a human being I could never imagine seeing that and walking away. Something doesn't add up there. Maybe its my morals or upbringing or the fact that I have a soul but I could never live with myself knowing I could have stopped that and didn't.

Exit question: Not saying there is any proof of this but McQueary went from being an unpaid Graduate Assistant to a paid Assistant the following year, and is now the wide receivers coach. Funny business maybe? Could he have been told to shut up when he noticed that police action wasn't coming? Questions like this need to be answered and answered now.

Issa stands up for 2nd Amendment

“When governments fear the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny. The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.” - Thomas Jefferson (1743-1826), US Founding Father, drafted the Declaration of Independence, 3rd US President

I just read this on Townhall, where MSNBC analyst and Huffpo columnist decides that of all the other rights protected by the Constitution that the 2nd amendment isn't as important as the others that are listed in there. What she, and quite frankly all other liberals, fail to realize is that without the 2nd amendment the others aren't really that useful either. Once you have taken away the armed citizenry then there really is no fear of gov to do away with the rest of them either. Don't believe me? Ask Germany about 1936.

Why do we do this to ourselves?

Four years ago I wrote a blog on Townhall that I kept up with for about a total of 45 minutes. I have since beaten that record here. Thank you to both of you reading this.

Now four years ago remember we had about 400 people running for office it seemed and there was no way to figure out who anyone was, and the ones we knew none of us wanted. In the end we ended up with John McCain. Gee thanks guys. To everyone who believes that our current practice of picking our nominee is a good idea, please go run your head into a wall a couple dozen times. That may sound harsh but every 4 years or so that's basically what we do as conservatives. We allow a couple of selected states "cough NH, IA, SC cough" to decide who our presidential nominee is going to be. To say that I hate this process would be like saying that I only have a mild dislike of everything liberal.

UPDATED: Newest Charge against Herman Cain

I was originally going to just make this an update to the previous post about Gloria Allred and the presser scheduled for today, however I felt it deserved its own. CNN has the story and video here, while The Hill has the story here. With this one you get a face and some actual details. At first glance it doesn't look good for the Cain campaign.

Percentage of people angry with Gov higher than with Bush (I), Carter, or Ford

80% of people responding in the ABC/WAPO poll said that they were either dissatisfied or down right angry with the government. Just to put this in perspective the number for Jimmy Carter was only 77% so theres something that Obama has Carter beat at. Although I'm not sure that's exactly the place that he wanted to beat that particular president at. In fact other than Carters previous record of down right pissed offness shown by the American people George H.W. Bush was at 72%, and Gerald Ford could only muster up a 71% hatred even with the Vietnam war and pardoning Nixon.

Shocking,, $33 bil high speed rail plan cost more than advertised

Apparently the same people who did the unemployment numbers for the Obama administration did the cost estimate on what it would cost to build a high speed rail way from LA to SF. Originally this would cost $33 billion. Turns out it would actually cost more than 3 times times that,  98.5 billion is the new estimate, and it would be opened 13 years late.

Well its about time. I almost lost my bet.

Shockingly it has taken Gloria Allred over a week to find someone to trot out in front of cameras to claim that they were also part of the latest bru ha ha, but rest assured she has finally found one. Allegedly she has a fourth woman that will actually come out and publicly state that she was also sexually harassed by Herman Cain.

Is it true? Possibly, Ill know more once I see the press conference, and or a transcript of said press conference. For the worst possible spin on it we go right to MSNBC.

For your enjoyment.. WH says ET doesn't exist

I've read a few stories on this now and while it ain't exactly hard hitting ground breaking news, well, it is humorous to think that someone a) actually formulated a response to this and b) that the people who signed this petition actually believed somewhere deep inside that the answer would be anything other than this.

For your viewing pleasures, Michelle Malkin, Hot Air, USA Today.

I'm sure there are more out there, and if I cared enough I could probably go find at least one site spouting about how the gov is lying about ET being on earth. OK  you got me.. I went searching and I came across this. Seems no point to even question now. We are definitely not alone.

Then again. What do we know. We here at The Handbook are just hoping you will read the ramblings and come back for more.

The DNC Convention vs the Laws of NC

Just in case anyone had thought that the DNC had decided to maybe lay off pushing their anti-business pro union down anyones throat they thought they could.. Well no such luck.

Apparently the DNC forgot to check the laws in NC before they awarded Charlotte the convention for this year. Actually more likely is they knew the laws exactly and wanted to see how many businesses they could get to union up due to a chance to get some extra business in such a crappy economy.

So just remember folks we here at The Handbook want you to always remember. When there is a D at the end of the name I assure you its not YOU they are looking out for.

Fast and Furious vs. 2nd Amendment

" A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, and the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." 2nd Amendment

Part of what makes the case of Fast and Furious, the gun walking plot developed by ATF, State Dept, FBI, DOJ, and every other group of initials we can come up with is the questions about what exactly the purpose of the scheme was. For those of you who don't know about F&F, it was a program that allowed over 2000 guns to be "walked" across the Mexican border, mostly to the Sinola drug cartel.

Voter Fraud in FL

We here at The Handbook try not to link to the same site to many times in one day, because frankly they aren't linking to us (although if they even knew we existed maybe that would help..) either way.

Here is further proof that the left is a bunch of liars and the voter fraud we all know happens.. is well.. happening...

UPDATED: Hermain Cains Problems

After the weekend we here at The Handbook had picking college and pro football games we should have known that openly supporting a candidate would probably doom them from the jump. Turns out we aren't completely paranoid.

Now the question becomes, are the allegations true, misconstrued, or completely fabricated. Well apparently there was a NDA signed by both of the women who were supposedly sexually harassed by Hermain Cain. He not surprisingly has come out and said everything is completely false. What else can he do come out and say, "Yup i did it, sorry bout that" cause that wouldn't have went over very well. Although denying it and have it turn out to be true would probably be even worse.

So the second question becomes where did this come from. Politicos source wasn't named and probably isn't coming forward any time soon. Redstate believes that it came from the Romney campaign since he's the only one so far that has shown a willingness to bring something like this out to muddy up an opponent. However Cain hasn't taken much support from Mittens and its not like they are going after the same demographic inside of the GOP anyway. However with our complete distrust and dislike of all things Romney we wouldn't be surprised. Question becomes though if it is proven to be Romney that shoveled this out and it turns out to be false accusations does it hurt Romney. My guess is no, since the people that are backing him are probably the same people that were backing him in 08 and would just call it oppo research.

Next comes the Perry campaign. While it hasn't proven itself to be involved in such things publicly so far Hot Air isn't so sure that it's Mittens and also claims that a witness is has come forward. Seems more likely since the support that Cain has garnered seems to have mostly come from the Perry campaign. They are both going after the social and fiscal con inside the GOP. Of course that could still leave Bachmann and Santorum, but I doubt if either is spending the little money they are bringing in on oppo research like this.

For a palate cleaner Cain is still showing strong support in both Iowa and SC. Does it hold up? I don't know. If the one female is allowed out of her NDA and has something along the lines of a blue dress to prove it all happened the way its been reported then I think Cain is sunk. Of course if this doesn't come out until after he has the nomination sewn up then, well O gets 4 more to ruin everything that is America.

Until proof comes out that he is actually guilty of this and that each of these women weren't paid just to go away on frivolous claims we here at The Handbook will continue our support of the Cain candidacy, that being said if the claims prove to be true, well..

Update: Apparently a third woman has come forward claiming that she was invited back to Cains corporate apartment. To say this looks bad is an understatement however this woman decided not to file the suit back when she knew about the other two already settling their cases. So if this really is true then obviously it wasn't money she was after.

This is from NBC News via the AP

The unidentified woman never filed a complaint but said she considered it, according to the AP. The behavior was characterized as "aggressive" and "unwanted."
The woman spoke to AP only on condition of anonymity, saying she feared losing her current job and the possibility of damage to her reputation. According to the AP, she said that Cain had told her that he had confided to colleagues how attractive she was and extended an invitation to his corporate apartment outside work.
NBC News has not verified her claims.

I know shocking I would read NBC news but I was looking for the worst possible spin of the story.

Week 8

For those of you who know us here at The Handbook, watching the Saints game today made us realize why is probably better for all of our health to not watch them any more. Maybe my uncles Dr. is on to something here.

Consider this an open thread for anyone who wants to comment.

Herman Cain: The only real option out there

For those of us with a very strong conservative streak in us saying that the fields for POTUS for the last few election cycles has sucked would be a gross understatement. No one has really come out and just been honest and principled in their views. Ok well one has, but lets be honest Ron Paul ain't exactly what were looking for in a President. Although I would contend his intentions are good and having him as POTUS right now would still be better than whats there.

In the last election cycle I would have bitten the bullet and voted for Mitt Romney. I felt at the time even with his inability to have a backbone and take a stand on anything at least he could have competed in the debates with O and probably made him look silly most of the time on economic issues. I cannot do that this time around. The movement and progress that we have made over the last year or so with the mid-terms and the Tea Party just will not allow me to compromise that much on what I believe this country needs.

That brings us to who I feel not only could win the nomination but also win the general. Now I do not really care about the establishment and their belief that its Romneys turn. Or that he is the most presidential looking or whatever ignorance they are spitting out to try to convince us that a Northeastern Gov who created socialized medicine in his state is where we should go.

Thus enter Herman Cain. I'll admit when he first came out I like most people didn't give him much credence. First off I knew nothing about him and secondly I wasn't sure if he was actually able to put together a campaign and do everything that would go along with that. What we are seeing now is that the more people find out about him the more that people like him. Yes, just to get it out of the way he makes mistakes, he misspeaks, he screws up, hes  a novice at running a campaign, and you know what I'm completely fine with all of that. It proves more to me that he is being honest. He is coming out and saying what he believes, mostly because he doesn't have the staff to prep him or teach him about all the other things that politicians worry about and frankly we here at the Handbook like that a lot.

I don't want a cookie cutter politician that always smiles never shows emotion and always has the perfect answer that actually answers nothing. I don't want sound bites. I want policies, I want beliefs. Take his 9-9-9 plan, is it perfect? Absolutely not, however I believe hes showing a willingness to work it and mold it into a plan that could actually work. Without him you don't get the Perry plan, you don't have Mittens coming out saying that he would be willing to possibly flatten his tax plan out.

Face it whether you like Cain or not he is setting the agenda right now for the debates and the policies coming out of the Republican candidates. Even doing so and being attacked at each of the last couple debates he is still the front runner. Why? Because people want someone who is honest, and doesn't three polls, four studies and a teleprompter to tell him what his positions are on things.

RSS Feed now available

For those of you reading this, Both of you, there is now an RSS feed available. Comments are open now as well. Work with me, slowly we are figuring this out.

Romney has position shift (FLOP)

In an act that would really surprise no one, Mitt Romney has once again changed his position on an issue. This time its Global Warming, or is it Climate Change now? The handbook has a hard time keeping up with the consistent name changes.

According to The Hill Mittens has now decided that he is no longer sure about what causes global warming. Al Gore is not going to be happy about this. After all this debate was suppose to be settled years ago. Either way Mitt realized that 25% is his ceiling and in an attempt to convince conservatives he is one of us he just decides to switch one more time. After all this is politics and who's really paying attention.

RIP Heros

Just read on Fox News that 13 US Servicemen were killed in an explosion in Kabul today. Our prayers go out to their families.

RIP

The President needs your Help!!!

Perusing the re-election site for Barack Obama today I came across a post that told me that he, leader of the free world, needed MY help. Well we here at the Handbook are always up to the challenge when our POTUS calls.

http://www.barackobama.com/news/analogy-challenge-without-helping-homeowners

There are some down at the bottom who are what you expect but a few people have apparently made it through the security systems and are talking about free market principals and market corrections. I'm sure the IRS has already been contacted.

haha.

England Where the US is headed under Liberals.

For those of you who are new to the handbook, and basically since it just started that would be all of you, let me give you a brief into myself and my views. I have been in the Navy for 11 years and consider myself to be a staunch member of that Vast Right Wing Conspiracy that the Clinton's were always screaming about. With that I have no use for politicians who believe that my money should be used for their pet projects. That goes for both sides of the aisle. I really have no use for anyone who believes that the government could/should be there to always to make sure that you are saved from your own stupidity. Some will call me heartless, to an extent you may be right. I have a firm belief that the government to a point has to be heartless. I believe that most of the people who are screaming right now that we shouldn't touch SS should probably look over their lives and figure out what they did with their money. Oh wait that's right, they believed that the Gov would be there for them in the end. Well guess what? Shockingly the government has screwed that up and it ain't gonna be there for ya. Now what ya gonna do?

Now that we have a slightly better understanding of who I am and where I stand I guess we can go forth and talk about what I actually posted this blog would be about.

Earlier I said that I am in the Navy. This has given me and opportunity to visit multiple countries around the world. The latest of which is the country of the United Kingdom. I have lived here since June and have come to realize the largest fundamental difference between the US and the UK. In the US we believe that our rights have been given to us from God and therefore no man can take them away. Here in the UK they believe to an extent that their rights have been given to them from the crown and thus are willing to go along with whatever crazy idea that gets thrown out there.

When I first got here I knew there would be some differences, however I never expected the differences that actually abound here. While in some respects the UK is doing better than the US its hard to understand why anyone would want this type of control in their life. For instance current unemployment in the UK is 7.7% and private job growth is outpacing US private sector growth. On top of that 24k jobs were shed in the private sector here, so it appears that they might have learned something. No where I'm talking about is the amount of the money earned that is required to be give to the government here. Want to drive your car? Well that's fine but your going to pay a tax disc (for my car its 215 British pounds about 344 US dollars) don't forget to buy your insurance (about twice what I was paying in the states) Want to drive in London? That's fine but your going to pay the congestion tax since your driving and taking up space or something. Want to rent a house here? Great but don't forget when you rent the house here YOU become responsible for the property taxes. The house I'm living in (which has only one closet, but 4 bathrooms, weird) is 1145 British pounds about $1850.

But all of those pale in comparison to the one that I'm sure every liberal in America would drool over if they ever thought they could push it through. The TV tax. Yes ladies and gentlemen here in the UK in order for you to watch TV (doesn't matter if its live or recorded or a video) you have to pay a tax on it and that is another 145 pounds, about $230. Oh and don't think your just gonna skip out on it. Cause when you buy a TV or sign up for service they send a notice to the Gov just to let them know that well your money is due.

After all of that if you think your just gonna go to the mall or not watch TV and save that money well parking that polluting space eater you call a car is gonna cost you too.

Like I said a liberals dream. Just think of all the fun projects ol' Nancy could come up with what with all that new income.
