In fact I think anything that prevents Congress from passing any laws for a while might be something worth looking into. Hell I would be willing to pay them more to just go away. God Bless America! Enjoy your Independance Day!
On this day 237 years ago, 56 men signed a document who, had things gone a touch different, would have been hanged for treason against the crown. These men were willing to pledge to each other their lives, fortunes and sacred honor, in the name of Divine Providence. All for the idea, the belief, that there was a better way. A way forward that prevented the tyranny against the people that they had seen grow so fertile in Europe.
When Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence, it was at it's time the largest slap in the face that all monarchs had ever seen. The concept that no man was more important than any other, the concept that the crown was not, by any idea, a person chosen by God to lead was anathema to every belief held at the time. A concept of self reliance and self government of the people, by the people, and for the people would prove to grow into a world superpower while providing more individual freedom than had ever been seen before.
Now we seem to be at a turning point in the ideals that our Founding Fathers fought so hard to promote and instill in our country. Daily we find out about new ways the government is eroding our very basic rights that were bestowed upon us by our Creator, and deem thus inalienable. We are quickly finding out that tyranny is a determined enemy and willing to bid it's time waiting for us to lose our focus.
Constantly we are deprived of liberties and rights in the name of security, or for the greater good. This country was never designed for one man to suffer for another to succeed. Everyone has that equal opportunity to succeed, it is what you do with that opportunity that has made our country great. Our founding principals were never designed for the outcome to be equal, that relied on you and your personal initiative, how hard are you willing to work for it.
And yet a mere 237 years later here we are, consistently being stripped of our rights. Are we willing to admit that we were willing to give up or freedom for the false sense of security? Will Benjamin Franklin prove right? Will we falter and fail at this experiment that had never before seen on Earth and allow it to go into the history books as another failed form of government that will eventually devolve into tyranny? Or will we follow our rights and as the Declaration itself says:
That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.
The ball, as they say, is in our court. We the People, have given the government it's power through our consent. Are we still willing to consent to our government that which it has decided it has the ability and power to inflict upon us? Or is it time to get excited and prove once again that we will not be subjects, we are THE PEOPLE, and the government answers TO US, not us to them.
While you are enjoying your independence day with explosives, beer, and bar-b-q, remember why we celebrate today and the men who risked everything to provide us with a country that allows any man to prosper, if he so chooses.

It is not a coincidence that it was added second only to the freedom of speech, religion, and ability to assemble peaceably and freely. Been away but we're back
For the three of you who read this I would like to apologize for the last month of not being here. I did a move from England back to the states and getting all of that done and getting back to a point where I had a chance to sit down and pay attention, much less write something was, well, a bit of a struggle you could say.
So while I was away Sequester went through, the world didn't end, but apparently White House tours did. Not sure how much that saved us but I'm certain that we are on our way to a balanced budget due to that and that alone.
The CR that went through the Senate funded Obamacare, we are 16 trillion in debt, and can't allow people to have a tour of the White House but we can fund a monstrosity that will take up 1/6 of the economy. Yeah that makes sense. To every Republican who voted to fund Obamacare through the CR should be primaried and removed from office. They say that elections have consequences, well to every person currently residing in some cushy government elected office, you should understand that each vote you cast has consequences. If we have to deal with the crap you vote for once you get elected then you are going to have to deal with us. It is that simple.

I know people say that sequester is going to hurt. I firmly believe that the only people that are going to feel the pain are the military. Which is kind of retarded but, such is life.

Is Obama squirming over sequestration?
On Jan 1st Congress and Obama made a deal that push sequestration back to March 1st. In that Obama was able to get his tax increases that he wanted on the "wealthiest Americans", and apparently the GOP managed to screw up and paint him into a corner. That is the only thing that can explain why Obama is all of a sudden willing to do a short term extension of cuts to put off sequestration for a few more months.
The fact that something the GOP did actually might work, is well, shocking. Don't think I'm going all soft on them though. Like I said, I'm pretty sure this was something they lucked into.

Jindal still has some fixin to do in LA
Every Tuesday at Fresh Market stores in LA, you are able to buy a gallon of milk for 2.99, this was a promotion that the store had been running for some time. Now, thanks to some unidentified complaint, the State Agriculture and Forestry Commissioner Mike Strain says that this is illegal and has to stop.
No seriously a State Commissioner told a store that it is against the law for them to put a particular product on sale because the Dairy Stabilization Board doesn't like it being the price that Fresh Market was selling the milk. Understand this, they were not affecting the price that the store itself was willing to buy the milk from the distributor, merely lowering the cost that they sold it to the consumer, also known as a sale. They LOST money on this deal. Willingly lost money on this deal.

I ask this in all seriousness. The House passing the bill is a good step I think, but where does it really get us? It allows Obama to continue his reckless spending until April at the earliest and only means that the Senate has to do the job that the Constitution requires them to do already. The Debt Limit is the right fight, but is only the beginning.
I have been reading a lot of things today about how people out there are thinking that we should not have the fight on the debt limit because it is as they say "the wrong fight". People like Newt Gingrich think that we should wait and fight in March at the end of the CR and allow the debt limit to raise now and make the rest of the spending official in March with an actual budget. As if the Senate will actually pass one of those. HAHAHA

Did Treasury force us to hit the debt limit during fiscal cliff debate?
Earlier I spoke about how it seemed kind of odd that throughout the year the Treasury kept telling us that we would make it until Feb before the debt limit was reached. Then magically on Dec 31 we hit the debt ceiling. Turns out we hit it on that date because Timothy Geithner forced us to hit it on that date.
According to CNSNews it turns out that we borrowed $95.953 billion that we didn't even need. Why because that amount raised our debt from $16.298022 trillion to 16.393975 trillion with the debt limit being at $16.394 trillion.

Why Obama won re-election.
But slowly along the way things started to happen. We started to relax our morals, we started to lose that self determination that allowed us to strive to such great heights so quickly.
Slowly but surely we started to look for reasons not to succeed rather that looking for ways to succeed. Everything started to become what someone else did to us to prevent us from succeeding, rather than what we caused to happen to ourselves. Basically we got lazy.
Did everyone? No just like all things some of us have retained that self responsibility and determination that made this country great. Then there are people like this that take that want of someone else to fix everything they screwed up because it is never their fault to a whole new level.

Seriously think about why this video proves exactly why Obama was re-elected. It's never your fault, or you didn't build that. It doesn't matter someone is always responsible for everything that has happened to you in your life, good or bad.
Look at the people who refuse to allow SS or Medicare to be cut. Not only is this a problem from a fiscal standpoint this is a serious problem from a personal responsibility stand point. People aren't even required to take responsibility for their own well being when they get older. Why should they take responsibility for anything they do now?
Oh and to answer the question/statement she makes at the end? You lady, who pumped out 15 kids is the one who is going to pay for them. Until we force that to happen in all cases we will continue to have people like this and Presidents like this one.

Can Conservatives win the coming debt limit and sequester fight?
I ask this in all seriousness. I know that if we had a "leadership" that was more concerned with reigning in spending and reducing the debt we could win. The problem is we don't have that kind of leadership. True, we do have some in Congress that feel this way and have the spine to make it work, but those unfortunately do not amount to numbers that we need.
John Boehner and Mitch McConnell will capitulate and cave long before we ever get to point of actually making the Dems sweat. Reason is the other side already knows that the Republican "Leadership" is scared of the media narrative blaming them if things don't go the exact way that the Dems want it to. We all know that those spineless fools will never have the fortitude to actually force the cuts that are needed.

Joygasim: Boehner re-elected as Speaker
May we now get exactly what we voted for. A fool with no backbone and zero principals who is possibly the worst negotiator in the history of the republic.
I'm so glad only 9 Republicans in the house actually had the guts to try to remove this idiot from office. I'm sure this will work out wonderfully. Especially since Boehner now refuses to negotiate one on one with the President. Of course with him, that's probably a good thing.

Great News: 16.4 Trillion debt ceiling to be hit Dec 31
According to the math whiz that runs the Treasury Department, we will hit the debt ceiling sooner than we expected. Don't worry though through some accounting gimmicks he can make us reach Feb. Maybe.
Some how the guy who couldn't figure out turbo tax can figure out to the day we will run out of money. Something smells fishy here. So at the same time that Obama wants a removal of the Debt Ceiling and at a very least wants a clean increase for the next few years, all of a sudden all those predictions to hit the ceiling come Feb were wrong. You mean to tell me the Federal Government can't add? Shocked I tell you. Shocked!

Shocking News: Social Security Broke!
According to this story from The Blaze, the SSA spent more than 47.8 Billion more than it took in. Nothing there surprising. I mean we already knew that was happening right. How bout this then. When SS was introduced there was 40 workers for every 1 receiving payments. Now that number is down to 1.67 per person receiving benefits.

Gun buy back program in NY is Racist.
Or at least it must be based on previous logic used when talking about Voter ID laws. You see for you to get up to $200 for your semi-auto rifle, which in most cases is quite below market value, you have to be able to produce photo ID for accounting purposes.
How are all those minorities who can't get ID for them to be able to participate in the election process going to be able to all of a sudden get an ID to sell those guns they no longer want? Where oh where is Erik Holder when you need him. This entire operation needs to be shut down and investigated for racisism.

I was reading CNN today and I came across an article written on Dec 19 by William Bennett. While the article itself makes plenty of sense, let me show you one small paragraph that shows the level of security academia has placed its students.
To illustrate the absurdity of gun-free zones, Goldberg dug up the advice that gun-free universities offer to its students should a gunman open fire on campus. West Virginia University tells students to "act with physical aggression and throw items at the active shooter." These items could include "student desks, keys, shoes, belts, books, cell phones, iPods, book bags, laptops, pens, pencils, etc." Such "higher education" would be laughable if it weren't true and funded by taxpayer dollars.
No seriously, throw your iPod at the man holding a weapon that fires a projectile a a few hundred miles an hour. Yep, that seems like a fair fight.
These are suppose to be the "smart" people in the room? Seriously? Throw a frickin desk? That's the best you can come up with? Not, Hey, let's not make our students and faculty sitting ducks for the next crazy that comes along. Nope, you just throw your desk and your ball point pen at him and it will be fine. Trust us, we're tenured.
