No more money after 17 Oct.

In a move that seems oddly reminiscent of the play made during the debt limit fight last December when Treasury forced us to hit the debt limit earlier than expected, they now say that will happen Oct 17th. Forcing Congress to act within 2 weeks of the beginning of the new fiscal year.

Ok, so not really out of money, just not able to borrow any more, we will still have 30 billion or so on hand, plus whatever the government brings in for the month. Anyone else find it odd that right before the debt limit fight comes up news comes out about how we are broke and unable to borrow any more?

Yeah I don't find it odd either. I'm also pretty sure that it is nothing more than pressure applied to Boehner because they know he has no spine.

But I say screw it. Let's hit the debt limit. Let's make it so there is no more borrowing, once the initial screaming dies down we can get down to the problems at hand. The out of control spending. Once there is no money to spend on dumb things and pet projects, priorities get shuffled real quick.

Time to make D.C. learn some new priorities. So screw it, don't pass a debt limit deal. Give them nothing.

Two seventh grade students were suspended from school because they were playing with guns. Well Mr. Handbook you say, guns are not allowed in schools and should not be played with. True, except we are talking about air soft pellet pistols, and they were in their own yard.

In a decision that contains a level asshatedness not seen since the Obamacare decision, the Appeals Court unanimously decided that the logs of who visits the Oval Office is beyond the reach of the FOIA.

God Bless America! Enjoy your Independance Day!

  On this day 237 years ago, 56 men signed a document who, had things gone a touch different, would have been hanged for treason against the crown. These men were willing to pledge to each other their lives, fortunes and sacred honor, in the name of Divine Providence. All for the idea, the belief, that there was a better way. A way forward that prevented the tyranny against the people that they had seen grow so fertile in Europe.

  When Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence, it was at it's time the largest slap in the face that all monarchs had ever seen. The concept that no man was more important than any other, the concept that the crown was not, by any idea, a person chosen by God to lead was anathema to every belief held at the time. A concept of self reliance and self government of the people, by the people, and for the people would prove to grow into a world superpower while providing more individual freedom than had ever been seen before.

  Now we seem to be at a turning point in the ideals that our Founding Fathers fought so hard to promote and instill in our country. Daily we find out about new ways the government is eroding our very basic rights that were bestowed upon us by our Creator, and deem thus inalienable. We are quickly finding out that tyranny is a determined enemy and willing to bid it's time waiting for us to lose our focus.

  Constantly we are deprived of liberties and rights in the name of security, or for the greater good. This country was never designed for one man to suffer for another to succeed. Everyone has that equal opportunity to succeed, it is what you do with that opportunity that has made our country great. Our founding principals were never designed for the outcome to be equal, that relied on you and your personal initiative, how hard are you willing to work for it.

   And yet a mere 237 years later here we are, consistently being stripped of our rights. Are we willing to admit that we were willing to give up or freedom for the false sense of security? Will Benjamin Franklin prove right?  Will we falter and fail at this experiment that had never before seen on Earth and allow it to go into the history books as another failed form of government that will eventually devolve into tyranny? Or will we follow our rights and as the Declaration itself says:

That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.

  The ball, as they say, is in our court. We the People, have given the government it's power through our consent. Are we still willing to consent to our government that which it has decided it has the ability and power to inflict upon us? Or is it time to get excited and prove once again that we will not be subjects, we are THE PEOPLE, and the government answers TO US, not us to them.

  While you are enjoying your independence day with explosives, beer, and bar-b-q, remember why we celebrate today and the men who risked everything to provide us with a country that allows any man to prosper, if he so chooses.

When those words were attached to the Bill of Rights the Founders had a  very specific purpose in mind. It is not a coincidence that it was added second only to the freedom of speech, religion, and ability to assemble peaceably and freely. They understood that without the 2nd Amendment there was really no reason to have the 1st.

Been away but we're back

For the three of you who read this I would like to apologize for the last month of not being here. I did a move from England back to the states and getting all of that done and getting back to a point where I had a chance to sit down and pay attention, much less write something was, well, a bit of a struggle you could say.

So while I was away Sequester went through, the world didn't end, but apparently White House tours did. Not sure how much that saved us but I'm certain that we are on our way to a balanced budget due to that and that alone.

The CR that went through the Senate funded Obamacare, we are 16 trillion in debt, and can't allow people to have a tour of the White House but we can fund a monstrosity that will take up 1/6 of the economy. Yeah that makes sense. To every Republican who voted to fund Obamacare through the CR should be primaried and removed from office. They say that elections have consequences, well to every person currently residing in some cushy government elected office, you should understand that each vote you cast has consequences. If we have to deal with the crap you vote for once you get elected then you are going to have to deal with us. It is that simple.

Before I went away for a while I was one of the people saying that we should allow for sequester to go through. Congrats Republicans you didn't snatch defeat from the jaws of victory on that one. I know people say that sequester is going to hurt. I firmly believe that the only people that are going to feel the pain are the military. Which is kind of retarded but, such is life.

Is Obama squirming over sequestration?

On Jan 1st Congress and Obama made a deal that push sequestration back to March 1st. In that Obama was able to get his tax increases that he wanted on the "wealthiest Americans", and apparently the GOP managed to screw up and paint him into a corner. That is the only thing that can explain why Obama is all of a sudden willing to do a short term extension of cuts to put off sequestration for a few more months.

The fact that something the GOP did actually might work, is well, shocking. Don't think I'm going all soft on them though. Like I said, I'm pretty sure this was something they lucked into.

Jindal still has some fixin to do in LA

Every Tuesday at Fresh Market stores in LA, you are able to buy a gallon of milk for 2.99, this was a promotion that the store had been running for some time. Now, thanks to some unidentified complaint, the State Agriculture and Forestry Commissioner Mike Strain says that this is illegal and has to stop.

No seriously a State Commissioner told a store that it is against the law for them to put a particular product on sale because the Dairy Stabilization Board doesn't like it being the price that Fresh Market was selling the milk. Understand this, they were not affecting the price that the store itself was willing to buy the milk from the distributor, merely lowering the cost that they sold it to the consumer, also known as a sale. They LOST money on this deal. Willingly lost money on this deal.

The Debt Limit is the right fight, but is only the beginning.

I have been reading a lot of things today about how people out there are thinking that we should not have the fight on the debt limit because it is as they say "the wrong fight". People like Newt Gingrich think that we should wait and fight in March at the end of the CR and allow the debt limit to raise now and make the rest of the spending official in March with an actual budget. As if the Senate will actually pass one of those. HAHAHA

Did Treasury force us to hit the debt limit during fiscal cliff debate?

Earlier I spoke about how it seemed kind of odd that throughout the year the Treasury kept telling us that we would make it until Feb before the debt limit was reached. Then magically on Dec 31 we hit the debt ceiling. Turns out we hit it on that date because Timothy Geithner forced us to hit it on that date.

According to CNSNews it turns out that we borrowed $95.953 billion that we didn't even need. Why because that amount raised our debt from $16.298022 trillion to 16.393975 trillion with the debt limit being at $16.394 trillion.

According to Liberty News, Wal Mart is suspending the ordering of any new ammunition until D.C. decides on what asinine new encroachments they want to put on our 2nd Amendment rights.

“As of right now WalMart is not going to be making any new orders of ammo because of the upcoming decision on the Second Amendment.  As of right now we are unsure of what new legislation might be coming, and because of this, we are suspending new orders."

Why Obama won re-election.

We have come a long way throughout the relatively short history of our country. We went from ruled colonies to one of the most powerful to the most powerful nation in under 200 years. That ladies and gentlemen is amazing.

But slowly along the way things started to happen. We started to relax our morals, we started to lose that self determination that allowed us to strive to such great heights so quickly.

Slowly but surely we started to look for reasons not to succeed rather that looking for ways to succeed. Everything started to become what someone else did to us to prevent us from succeeding, rather than what we caused to happen to ourselves. Basically we got lazy.

Did everyone? No just like all things some of us have retained that self responsibility and determination that made this country great. Then there are people like this that take that want of someone else to fix everything they screwed up because it is never their fault to a whole new level.

Seriously think about why this video proves exactly why Obama was re-elected. It's never your fault, or you didn't build that. It doesn't matter someone is always responsible for everything that has happened to you in your life, good or bad.

Look at the people who refuse to allow SS or Medicare to be cut. Not only is this a problem from a fiscal standpoint this is a serious problem from a personal responsibility stand point. People aren't even required to take responsibility for their own well being when they get older. Why should they take responsibility for anything they do now?

Oh and to answer the question/statement she makes at the end? You lady, who pumped out 15 kids is the one who is going to pay for them. Until we force that to happen in all cases we will continue to have people like this and Presidents like this one.

Can Conservatives win the coming debt limit and sequester fight?

I ask this in all seriousness. I know that if we had a "leadership" that was more concerned with reigning in spending and reducing the debt we could win. The problem is we don't have that kind of leadership. True, we do have some in Congress that feel this way and have the spine to make it work, but those unfortunately do not amount to numbers that we need.

John Boehner and Mitch McConnell will capitulate and cave long before we ever get to point of actually making the Dems sweat. Reason is the other side already knows that the Republican "Leadership" is scared of the media narrative blaming them if things don't go the exact way that the Dems want it to. We all know that those spineless fools will never have the fortitude to actually force the cuts that are needed.

Joygasim: Boehner re-elected as Speaker

May we now get exactly what we voted for. A fool with no backbone and zero principals who is possibly the worst negotiator in the history of the republic.

I'm so glad only 9 Republicans in the house actually had the guts to try to remove this idiot from office. I'm sure this will work out wonderfully. Especially since Boehner now refuses to negotiate one on one with the President. Of course with him, that's probably a good thing.

We asked for it, Now we have it.

For the last month I have been screaming to the world and all three of you here that read this, that we needed to go over the cliff. Pass a bill in the house that was logical and made full of common sense, you know balancing the budget type stuff, and then send it to the Senate and walk away. Instead what happened is what always happens. The Republican "Leadership" caved and gave away everything and then some.

Oh and for those of you about to say it, DO NOT come to me and talk about changing a narrative for the debt ceiling debate. Even you can't possibly believe that Boehner (if still speaker) and McConnell are going to show any more backbone than what they did here.

Great News: 16.4 Trillion debt ceiling to be hit Dec 31

According to the math whiz that runs the Treasury Department, we will hit the debt ceiling sooner than we expected. Don't worry though through some accounting gimmicks he can make us reach Feb. Maybe.

Some how the guy who couldn't figure out turbo tax can figure out to the day we will run out of money. Something smells fishy here. So at the same time that Obama wants a removal of the Debt Ceiling and at a very least wants a clean increase for the next few years, all of a sudden all those predictions to hit the ceiling come Feb were wrong. You mean to tell me the Federal Government can't add? Shocked I tell you. Shocked!

Well now lets look at the budget and help Turbo Tax Timmy find some more money. All totals from the 2013 proposed budget from Obama.

Shocking News: Social Security Broke!

According to this story from The Blaze, the SSA spent more than 47.8 Billion more than it took in. Nothing there surprising. I mean we already knew that was happening right. How bout this then. When SS was introduced there was 40 workers for every 1 receiving payments. Now that number is down to 1.67 per person receiving benefits.

Now using what my math teacher in High School taught me, tells me that particular equation does not work out.

Gun buy back program in NY is Racist.

Or at least it must be based on previous logic used when talking about Voter ID laws. You see for you to get up to $200 for your semi-auto rifle, which in most cases is quite below market value, you have to be able to produce photo ID for accounting purposes.

How are all those minorities who can't get ID for them to be able to participate in the election process going to be able to all of a sudden get an ID to sell those guns they no longer want? Where oh where is Erik Holder when you need him. This entire operation needs to be shut down and investigated for racisism.

This has to be a joke right? No, No it's not.

I was reading CNN today and I came across an article written on Dec 19 by William Bennett. While the article itself makes plenty of sense, let me show you one small paragraph that shows the level of security academia has placed its students.

To illustrate the absurdity of gun-free zones, Goldberg dug up the advice that gun-free universities offer to its students should a gunman open fire on campus. West Virginia University tells students to "act with physical aggression and throw items at the active shooter." These items could include "student desks, keys, shoes, belts, books, cell phones, iPods, book bags, laptops, pens, pencils, etc." Such "higher education" would be laughable if it weren't true and funded by taxpayer dollars.

No seriously, throw your iPod at the man holding a weapon that fires a projectile a a few hundred miles an hour. Yep, that seems like a fair fight.

These are suppose to be the "smart" people in the room? Seriously? Throw a frickin desk? That's the best you can come up with? Not, Hey, let's not make our students and faculty sitting ducks for the next crazy that comes along. Nope, you just throw your desk and your ball point pen at him and it will be fine. Trust us, we're tenured.

Like I said this would be a joke if it weren't so damn serious.

NYT still trying to white wash Fast and Furious.

An article in the NYT designed to show the public how much better the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms could be if Gun rights groups and Conservatives would just allow them to have more funding and less legal restrictions.

Then they go on to throw one more white wash on the Fast and Furious debacle, I guess just to make sure Obama still knows how much they love him.

We allowed this to happen now deal with it.

I have been trying to figure out what I wanted this post to say for a few days. Today it struck me as to what it was that I wanted to say. I have been reading that people think that the Conservative caucus of the Republican House screwed everything up by throwing a "Tantrum" and making sure that Plan B failed. Some people believe that by doing this we are going to be stuck with God knows what kind of deal that is going to screw us over in the long run.

Here's a news flash for you. Plan B was that plan that was going to screw us over, and it wasn't even going to wait for the long run. It was going to screw us over right from the beginning, but people are so afraid of the fiscal cliff that they don't want to believe that. They seem to believe that Congress is actually concerned with doing something that is logical and would actually be a step in the right direction for the country. If that were the case the Sandy relief fund wouldn't be 60 billion with only 11 billion going to Sandy victims and most of the money not being spent until 2015.

Concussion prevents Hillary from Testifying... Next Week

That's right. As reported by Fox News recently. Our Secretary of State fainted and hit her head causing a concussion. Plausible that it could happen. Causing her to be so out of it she cannot testify five days away is a bit less.



Not saying there is anything funny going on here. Just sayin its a bit funny that they already canceled her appearance five days away without waiting to see just how long she was affected by it. I understand that concussions can cause extreme discomfort and sensitivity to light and sound, both of which are in excess in a Senate hearing. However, to decide five days away that it isn't going to happen when a professional athlete will wait until the day of them running full speed into other large men in the case of football players before they make that decision, just seems a bit, well, fishy.

Before we get to the meat of this I would like to say a few things. First is the absence of The Handbook for the last few months. Those of you who have continued to visit us and read our previous musings are greatly appreciated.

Secondly to the families and friends of those affected by the senseless evil attacks on a kindergarten class in CT have our deepest thoughts and prayers. Our minds may never be able to comprehend why or how someone can commit such an atrocity against the most innocent in our society. The concept of dropping my child off at school to never see them again is more than I know I could ever handle. I cannot imagine the pain and suffering that those families are going through right now.

Ryan as VP is a great plan

I realize I haven't been around much this month. Sorry bout that. Trying to move and got a little busy and a few things suffered for it. Don't believe I haven't been thinking about this place though. We still have to stay vigilant and make sure we get Obama on the unemployment line come Nov.

All that out of the way. Congrats to Mitt Romney for not screwing this up. In Paul Ryan you have a man that will destroy Joe Biden in every debate that they have for the VP's provided Obama and Biden are man enough to actually agree to any. Which I still doubt they will agree to any more than 1 or 2 and with this pick I don't believe Obama has enough faith in Biden to go against someone like Paul Ryan and actually not look, well exactly like Joe Biden.

Just in case you forgot Republican Leadership still has no spine.

On Sept 30th the US Government is going to run out of money. How can this happen you ask? Simple a budget hasn't been passed by the US Senate in FOUR (4) years. That's how. Now there is a mad scramble to make sure that a continuing resolution gets passed before then to avert a government shutdown. Why such a rush? It's election season, didn't you get the memo? It's that time of year when nothing of substance can be done (not that it happens any other time either) for the fear of rocking the boat upsetting someone and possibly losing your job.

So Republican leadership is more than happy to negotiate cave to all Democratic demands for a 6 month CR to make sure they don't get any bad press.

Shocking: NYT still skewing polls

NYT and CBS teamed up with Quinnipiac to conduct a poll in OH, FL and PA. Shockingly they managed to make it look like Obama was running away with this election.

Personally I don't know as much about polling skews and weighting and all the crap that comes with polling. The guys over at Hot Air seem to have a pretty good handle on it and from the numbers they show for the polling it shows what my gut instantly knew. That the NYT and CBS made sure this poll came out the way that they wanted.

Rahm Emanual refuses to be out done; bans Chick-Fil-A from Chicago

I guess the fact that someone ran to the left of him and beat him to the punch only pissed him off so he figured he should get in on the action.

For the same reasons that Boston Mayor doesn't want Chick-Fil-A in his city, Rahm Emanual has decided the same thing. Once again tolerance and acceptance only happens when you share their beliefs. Speak out against the abomination that is gay marriage and get banned from two large cities.

Come out in favor of anti-semitism and you're in though. Those are apparently "Chicago values". That and stealing elections, doing everything to publicly destroy anyone who dares speak out against you, and just plain jackassery.

Glad we got that out of the way. Hadn't heard from him in a while and was beginning to wonder where he went.

Boston Mayor vows no Chick-Fil-A

So the intolerant left has decided to step out there again and show the world they are only tolerant of those who agree with them. The newest case concerns the fast food restaurant Chick-Fil-A.

The founders of the chain were deeply religious Christians, hence why they are not open on Sundays. They prefer to allow their employees to be afforded the ability to observe the sabbath if they so choose. They have never been sued or accused of discrimination against anyone and yet the Boston Mayor has decided that such a hate filled organization shouldn't be allowed in his town.

The unthinkable tragedy in CO

Since in I'm in England I am sometimes a little behind on the news. Especially during the week. The tragedy that struck in CO this week was something that should never happen. When James Holmes opened fire on a Batman movie it was an unspeakable and senseless act that we will never understand.

How did this 24 year old grow up and decide that taking 12 innocent lives including a 6 year old  little girl for who knows what reason we will probably never really understand. I'm not sure that the human mind and psyche can understand and comprehend why people are driven to do things like this.


This type of crazed taking of life hurts the soul and makes you feel deeply for the families. A lot of people begin to come to terms with it by offering prayers and in some cases donations for the victims and their families.

Then there are some people who "never let a crisis go to waste."

 A new statue of President Ronald Reagan and Pope John Paul II that was unveiled in Gdansk, Poland, on Saturday, July 14, 2012. Both late leaders are highly reveared in Poland for their role in helping to topple communism.

Obama's bad month spills into July

I'm sure that once SCOTUS ruled in his favor on Obamacare, Obama likely thought he was out of the woods for a continuing headache. Turns out he was wrong. In Florida, likely a very important swing state, Obama and Holder just suffered a serious setback.

A judge recently ruled that Florida was completely within its rights to purge voter rolls of people who should not be there, you know illegal immigrants, and convicted felons, and in some cases dogs. Obama, Holder and Napolitano didn't like that plan. They actually hated that plan and sued to stop it. Then they lost. Now they have given up.

Tax plans will create NO growth.

The Democrats have circulated a tax plan that would cover the next year to see if they can get enough votes to get it passed. They are basically keeping the current tax rates (I refuse to call them tax cuts, since they have been the rates for 10 years) for everyone below 200,000 or 250,000 for families.

Republicans are no better, as they only want to extend the current rates for everyone for another year. Then the promise with a pledge they will absolutely do something in 2013. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Dissension among the Union Ranks

Everyone knows that all of the members of every union will not agree on everything the union does. It is no different than that of a normal grouping of random people, because of this differing views are prevalent. Take for instance the amount of money spent by unions on politics. Not every union member agrees that Democrats are the only way to go. That doesn't matter to the unions though, because the "leadership" thinks that Democrats are the only way to vote. Take into account that in some states workers are denied the most basic right of free choice and are forced to join unions and sometimes you are going to have problems. Unions are typically good at keeping those problems quiet though.

Today is not one of those days, however.

Obama wants to let UN take away your gun rights.

The UN is right now, negotiating a treaty called the Arms Trade Treaty. This is a treaty that the Bush administration had refused to even be a part of the negotiations on. Barack Obama, however, decided that negotiating with a bunch of crack heads that hate the US is a good policy plan. If this treaty were to pass it would open up private gun ownership records of American citizens to such trustworthy foreign governments as Iran.

But I'm sure that our government would never allow our 2nd Amendment rights to be trampled. Right?

Gun turn in program. The law of unintended consequences.

While perusing the news today when I got home from work I found something that made me smile so I figured I would share it with you. In Chicago they have a gun buy back program where they will give you money for your gun in the form of a visa debit card. By using American Ingenuity and causing everyone to laugh at the people who actually thought criminals would turn in their guns for a couple hundred bucks, a pro-gun group has used the money they got for selling broken guns back to the city to host a youth shooting camp.

That's right, they sold old busted guns one of which was held together with duck tape, literally, and used the funds for an NRA sponsored event to teach kids about the joys of shooting and the safety precautions and safe handling of firearms.

Wonder what Rahm Emanuel thinks of this?

Great News: 11% of all unemployment payments are fraudulent

Amazing simply amazing. We extend out unemployment benefits to 99 weeks and what does that allow? It allows even more time for people to defraud the government before they have to find a new way to do it. 14 Billion in payments made last year were illegal. That's just wonderful.

Obama doubles down on class warfare

Obama has decided that vilifying the rich is the best way to win an election. This we all knew already. But now with a horrible jobs report, and anemic growth at best in the economy, he has decided that now is the time to double down on his call to end the Bush tax rates.

That is misleading though. Throughout the media they keep calling it the "Bush era tax rates". These have been the tax rates for a decade now. How long until they become just the current tax rates? Oh wait that's right, if he says that it shows that he is once again raising taxes on the American people.

Fewer Young Gun Republicans signing the Anti-Tax Pledge

I was reading Redstate today on an article about possibly needing a third party. Relax they weren't calling for one they were just stating that one may come about from the crap that we are receiving from the current Republican party.

On that point I happen to agree with him. While the concept of a third party may work in some respects when it comes to congressional races, if and only if the third party can win, mostly all it would do is split the conservative vote and ensure that Dems would take over complete power. This is especially true when it comes to Presidential elections. For my first exhibit in that regard I give you Ross Perot.

What really got me was a small nugget down at the bottom that caught my eye.
By the way, this year fewer and fewer Republican candidates are signing the tax pledge on the advice of Republican members of Congress. This is another warning sign that the Eric Cantor led Republican conference is going far afield from what those who vote Republican actually want.

100 million spent = 0 jobs created

We all know about Solyndra and the 535 million dollar boondoggle that was. Now comes news that another waste of close to 100 million of our tax dollars. Yep still part of the "green energy investment" that Obama is so fond of.

Nevada Geothermal Power, who as you can imagine received strong endorsements from Harry Reid, is about to go bankrupt. He claimed it would create jobs in Nevada and all we had to do was secure a 98.5 million dollar loan for them. Well we did and the total number of jobs created comes to.... 0. That's right. Nothing, not one job created. This would be funny if it weren't so sad.

Paul Ryan Confident in Repeal of Obamacare

I wish I could share his confidence during his interview with Breitbart. However I don't believe for a minute that Mitch McConnell or John Boehner have any kind of back bone to pull it off. I think Boehner can be forced into the vote by the actual adults in the room in the House but the Senate I fear is a lost cause.

Reid will never allow McConnell to bring the bill forward and, McConnell will fold like the cheap suit he is just so he doesn't upset the apple cart. Remember it was McConnell who killed Senator Jim Demint's bill to force the entirety of the Obamacare bill to be read on the Senate floor before it could be voted on. I guess he wanted to wait until he passed it to see what was in it.

Romney sets GOP record, raises 100 million in June alone.

Add that to the 77 million that he took in back in May and you have what is shaping up to be very interesting. Obama and his celebrity friends haven't been able to out gain Mitt since he got he nomination. Now with SCOTUS rallying the base in a way that I don't think Mittens ever could on his own, we are setting up for more whining from Obama.

Bobby Jindal is a frickin genius.

Being from Louisiana originally I have followed Bobby Jindal since he broke onto the stage to win the Governorship of the state. I have been extremely impressed with his ability to get to the point of the problem and actually make reforms that are conservative and smart, and then find the political muscle to get them passed. He has managed to get teacher pay reformed in Louisiana, brought school choice to the state, remained a thorn in Obama's eye throughout the drilling moratorium in the Gulf of Mexico, and was one of the first to announce that he refused to expand Medicaid after the SCOTUS ruling.

But now he has shown the world why Mitt Romney needs to seriously consider him for the bottom half of the ticket.

ICE agent Shot near Mexican Border

ICE agent Kelton Harrison, was shot twice in the abdomen Tuesday morning near Hidalgo County, TX. In a revelation that shocks no one it is a known drug trafficking route.

He is currently in stable condition as reported by Fox News. Apparently he was shot while driving an unmarked SUV off-road. Some shell casings were recovered and there is a belief that there were two shooters.

Everyone Pray for a speedy recovery.

Seriously this is good news. The Houston Chronicle is reporting that the number of criminals killed under the "Stand your Ground Law" has increased since the law was expanded in 2007. Ladies and Gentlemen that is the result of a law doing it's job.

As more criminals are removed from the gene pool by force and not allowed to use the courts to pacify and coddle them there will be fewer of them to worry about.

July 4th Fireworks cancelled because birds could be scared.

In a headline that makes you go wtf? Fox News is reporting via The Oregonian that the July 4th fireworks display in the town of Depoe Bay has been canceled because some birds could get scared.

No seriously.

Romney says Obamacare not a Tax and McConnel already squirming his way out of repeal.

Romney's problem stems from the fact that if he goes after Obamacare, Obama will come after him about Romneycare in Mass. So in an effort to try to walk a very fine line and not piss anyone off, he instead pisses everyone off. Well everyone that matters anyway.

McConnells problem is the same as John Boehner's, he has no spine, none, the man is a damn jellyfish. If he had a spine, we wouldn't even have Obamacare, and the debt ceiling debacle would have ended completely differently. If Boehner had a spine we wouldn't have had the Transportation-HUD bill pass recently as a combination bill so that he could get on vacation.

Alternate headline: Republicans still don't have a backbone. Personally I liked the one I put up there, and since I write the damn thing I'll do what I want.

Now on to the actual point of this post. the 2013 Transportation - HUD conglomeration of bills that should have all been voted on individually, passed while reducing the total cost by 3.9 billion less than last year. Good news right? Well since we spent 3.6 trillion last year, and only took in 2.3 trillion that means we saved .003% of our deficit last year. That means we only have 99.997% left to find, just to break even. Or to put it in a number that you understand, we only need to find $1,296,100,000,000 more of wasteful spending in the budget right?

And not in the Ahmed the puppet "I kill you" funny way either. I mean they really want you to die. Why won't you just die you damn infidel?

In their latest attempt to end your life, they are again trying to blow up planes. According to the New York Post a Norwegian named Muslim Abu Abdurrahman, who was converted and radicalized in 2008 was selected to attempt in the glorious fashion that the underwear bomber Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab tried back in 2009. Actually I have no idea if he was going to place the bomb in his underwear.

Is it a Tax or a Penalty?

Since the courts upheld the mandate on the basis that it is within the purview of Congress thanks to the power to tax, the Obama administration has a small problem on their hands. Yes, they got the win they wanted from the Supreme Court, but they got it in probably what was the worst possible outcome for them.

They now have to try to convince the American people that the Individual Mandate is still a penalty, even though the courts say the only way it is legal is if it is a tax.

DOJ won't prosecute Holder

In a move to surprise no one. The DOJ has exerted it's privilege to not bring their boss before a Grand Jury and force him to face the charges of lying to Congress. Since Obama implemented Executive Privilege on the documents for Fast and Furious, Deputy Attorney General James Cole has said that no laws were broken.

This is exactly what should happen. We all know it won't as I said earlier the GOP is missing their... ummm.. spine.. but sure would be fun to watch Obama's face as the bill is presented and signed to repeal is legacy right there in front of him. In fact if they every do surprise me and actually repeal it they should invite Obama to the signing ceremony.

Should we trust Romney, Boehner and McConnel?

The results are in, Romney is the winner from the SCOTUS decision on Obamacare, or at least his campaign war chest is. Romney and the RNC raised 4.6 million in the hours after the decision was announced from approximately 47,000 donors. That's a lot of extra cheddar to be hanging around all of a sudden to beat Obama over the head with.

I still believe that SCOTUS got it wrong on Obamacare. It was never sold, or supposedly intended to be a "tax" however that's what the government now has. The unfettered unlimited ability to do whatever they want and call it a penalty collected by the IRS and suddenly it's Constitutional.

Holder voted in Contempt what to do now

So I said last night that it was basically a foregone conclusion that Holder was going to be struck with a contempt citation from the House yesterday. Of course I also wrote about how happy I was going to be when I found out that SCOTUS did the only logical thing and stuck down Obamacare in its entirety.

So after SCOTUS crushed my dreams of reining in federal power I actually got a little nervous about the contempt proceedings. Not because I didn't think the votes were there, but because I didn't actually trust John Boehner to actually do something that took some kind of backbone.

Although having 17 Dems vote with him probably made it a little bit easier for his spineless soul to allow it to happen though.

CBC planning walk out during Holder's contempt vote.

In a move reminiscent of the weak minded union paid for idiots that were Democrat Reps in WI while Scott Walker tried to pass his budget reforms the Congressional Black Caucus is planning to walk out.

So the Black Caucus in a show of stupidity solidarity, will walk out to make sure the vote can't go through I assume. Of course their stated reasoning for doing this is well a bit absurd.

House Vote on Contempt Charges scheduled for 5 pm

Unfortunately since I am in England, and actually have to you know, work for a living, I will probably be asleep or close to it by the time that vote happens. Especially since votes in Congress rarely happen at their exact scheduled time.

We shall see though. It is almost a forgone conclusion that Holder will be found in Contempt this afternoon. That just raises the question of what exactly does that mean.

Someone has to bring the actual criminal charges against him in front of a Grand Jury. Since the District Attorney for D.C. Ronald Machen has to actually bring the charges. Problem is Holder is his boss. Fox News asks the question can Holder just use prosecutorial  discretion since technically the DOJ has to bring the charges against the head of the DOJ and not prosecute himself?

If he could/did do that how bad would the fallout be?

Mandate Upheld, Government power now uncontrollable

I had a post all ready about how we had beaten back the leviathan and were one step closer to actually limiting the power of government. So much for that. Thanks there CJ Roberts. To think that he sided with the 4 liberal justices and that Kennedy wrote the dissenting opinion and actually made sure to state that this entire bill was a farce is well depressing.

We had a chance, we had a court that I was positive would see that this was a complete over reach of government and slap them back. So much for Obama Slap-Down Day™.

We're all wrong on Fast and Furious

That's right ladies and gentlemen, after a year and a half of investigating we finally learned the truth about Fast and Furious. Turns out, there was nothing evil there, it was just ATF agents that were hamstrung by gun fanatical prosecutors that refused to prosecute straw purchasers. Why? Because the penalties weren't harsh enough and it wasn't worth the time.

Issa to Obama: You're a Liar or a Criminal, which one is it?

So according to the letter that Darrel Issa sent to Barack Obama, Obama is either a liar or a criminal. Issa notes that either Obama is lying about no one in the upper echelons of the Executive branch being part of Fast and Furious or he is obstructing a Congressional investigation. Either way it would appear that they will not be trading Christmas cards this year.

Contempt vote for Holder on Thurs?

Apparently according to some Republican aides. Right now the vote is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, which could mean a couple things. Allapundit at Hot Air thinks that John Boehner and his spineless friends are trying to lessen the impact of the vote against Holder.

I can see that. But I also have another idea.

Best part is that SCOTUSBlog the opinion is being written by Chief Justice Roberts and possibly co-authored by Justice Kennedy. This is a good sign. This means at a minimum the mandate went down. Personally I don't see any of the law standing but stranger things have happened.

As most of you know I am currently in England because of that I get to actually see a single payer healthcare system in operation. I also get to hear opinions on these things from the Brits who actually have to live this.

Issa Finally Understand the point of Fast and Furious

For months now we have heard about how Fast and Furious was nothing more than a botched attempt at continuing a program that was started and subsequently shut down by the Bush Administration in Operation Wide Receiver. The biggest difference in the two was that Wide Receiver was done with Mexican co-operation and actually, you know, interdicted the guns before they could get lost.

Fast and Furious on the other hand was nothing more than pure political theater and they know it.

New reason to challenge your 2nd amendment rights.. Wildfires

According to the Governor of Utah people shooting guns has been responsible for 20 of the wildfires in Utah this year and were responsible for 24 wildfires last year. This causes problems for the Governor because he is restricted by Federal and State laws along with recent rulings from SCOTUS that he can't issue an emergency ban on people using firearms.

There is also that pesky thing called the Constitution, but he never mentions that.

White House preparing to be slapped down by SCOTUS.

Valerie Jarret told the National Association of Black Journalists in New Orleans Saturday that the White House is prepared for the ruling from SCOTUS. Then went on to prove that they know they are about to get smacked down by blaming the GOP for having the policy of "NO".

So we're still going to use that slogan uhn? I mean the constant budgets that were passed by the house, controlled by the GOP, made you think it is the party of no? The constant bills coming out of the House that actually push things that would create jobs, such as Keystone XL are the reason that we still have unemployment above 8% and a 16 trillion dollar debt right?

TSA = The Stupidest Available

In a development that will surprise absolutely nobody, the TSA managed to screw up again. This time Alija Abdul Majed, a TSA screener at JFK worked most of his morning shift and never got a single hit on his metal detector. Not once did he wonder about the odds that it would take for thousands of people to stream through his terminal and never miss anything in their pockets. Turns out the odds were not in his favor, the problem was his metal detector wasn't turned on.

Why wasn't it turned on you ask? Because it wasn't even plugged in. Still feel safe?

Woman sues 11 yr old over baseball,

I found a story on Fox News that basically told me everything that is wrong with this country today. No one is willing to accept their own problems. Everything is somebody elses fault.

Case in point a New Jersey woman is suing a 13 yr old boy for something that happened when he was 11. What happened you ask? Did he burn her house down, wreck her car, destroy her wedding day? Nope, she was sitting next to the bull pen where he was warming up another pitcher for his team. Shockingly an 11 year old wasn't the most accurate with one throw that sailed on him and hit the woman in the face. Now she's suing for $150,000 plus pain and suffering.

Well they mandated it back in 2005 because they, in their typical government alter-reality, believed that mandating some new product would magically make it appear. Problem is of the 500 million gallons that are required to be used this year there are.... 0 gallons available. That's right. None, zip, zilch, nada. There is not a single gallon in existence to be used in commercial applications. There is as much of this stuff out there to put in to your car as there is unicorns to harvest farts from.

So I wasn't going to say anything her crap today, because well talking about her makes me feel like I'm losing brain cells. Then again maybe that's what finally happened to her, the last 3 useful brain cells she had finally died. That's the only explanation that I can come up with for the earlier stuff that came out about how she claimed to have the power to arrest Karl Rove at any point she saw him in the Capital and put him in some jail inside the Capital that no one else knows about, which was well delusional to say the least.

Now she's claiming that she knows that the GOP is only going after Eric Holder because he is trying to stop the GOP from suppressing voters. Wait, what?

Sex Predators can't hide on Facebook in LA

The state of LA just passed a law that makes it a requirement for all sex offenders and child predators to identify themselves as such on their social media pages.

The law is intended to inform the public just like when a sexual predator moves into a neighborhood and has to identify themselves at that point. Personally I like the law. Of course I also believe that they should have to live with large billboards in their yards showing their face and screaming to the world that they are sexual predators, and well I don't think they should ever be allowed to see the light of day after they are caught but until someone makes that law at least we're moving in the right direction.

A new Louisiana law requires convicted sex offenders and child predators to reveal their status on social media websites.
Having failed to ban such offenders from websites like Facebook and Google+, state lawmakers instead decided sex offenders should be required to notify the online community of their presence the same way they must notify a neighborhood when they move in, WWL radio reported.
"In today's society, people come into our homes via the Internet, whether it's Facebook or Pinterest or Instagram," GOP Rep. Jeff Thompson said. "We should have the same information available."
If offenders fail to abide by the law, they face up to 10 years in prison.
"This provides prosecutors with another tool to make sure that those people which intend harm to our children are going to face the consequences," Thompson said.

AG Holder Found in Contempt

Now the question becomes can Boehner keep his spine long enough to let the floor vote happen next week? I give it 50/50.

With the stonewalling finally reaching a boiling point after Congress finally tired of asking Holder and the DOJ to produce the documents relating to Fast and Furious they finally got the contempt vote completed this afternoon. Personally this should have happened about 5 minutes after he blatantly lied to Congress months ago, but I guess better late than never.

So how does this hurt Obama, can this be tied around his neck like an anchor? When does the process start with the courts to remove the Executive Privilege claim?

When it comes to the names of the donors of Crossroads GPS. So when it's someone else that is trying to a favor to the country and make sure that Obama is not re-elected, well those people need to be completely transparent.

Of course he hasn't called for Priorities USA, the non-profit set up to help Obama get re-elected, to disclose their donors. That could be because they don't have as many donors as they hoped for.

Once again it's all political. Just like this morning. If Obama didn't have any kind of part or knowledge of Fast and Furious why would he exert Executive Privilege?

Oh yeah because when his AG gets cited for Contempt of Congress, it will probably not be the best re-election speech to hang your hat on. The booming economy we have had under him will be much better. Oh wait.

I saw the breaking news while I was at work this afternoon. (I'm in England, remember.) Obama had granted Holder's request for Executive privilege on the 2300 pages that the House Oversight committee had been asking for since well forever.

Since Holder's power point presentation didn't sway over Issa last night, and the vote for contempt was still going forward today Holder went begging to his boss for a favor. A favor Obama was more than willing to issue. Because of this Congress now has to contest Executive Privilege on all these documents so that we can find out just how deep into this Eric Holder or other members of the DOJ were involved.

Shocking. Holder still wont comply with supena.

In a turn of events that will surprise no one, Erick Holder still has not sent Issa the documents that were requested.
Issa made it clear that he doesn't care about meeting with him he only wants the documents.
The fact that the DOJ refuses to produce the documents related to the death of a federal agent while being threatened with contempt charges speaks volumes.
Bring on the vote.

Will Issa cave on Fast and Furious?

Getting home from work today, I began perusing the interwebs of news to see what I missed while I was at work. What I found wasn't completely new but it did give some more information that quite frankly pissed me off, even though it shouldn't have, I should have seen it coming.

Reports are out that Issa will meet with Holder tonight in an attempt by Holder to stop from being cited for contempt and then hopefully fired along with his boss. That in and of itself doesn't piss me off what does is this small sentence of the story

Great News: McCain wants to revist Campaign Finance Reform

The lefts favorite Republican was at it again on Sunday. While on Meet the Press he told everyone just what he thought of the Citizens United decision from the Supreme Court.

"I think there will be scandals as associated with the worst decision of the Supreme Court in the 21st Century — uninformed, arrogant, naive," McCain said on NBC's "Meet the Press."

Yep, because he has shown the brilliance of being able to figure out how campaign finance should work. Maybe he should sponsor a bill in the Senate or something. Oh wait, you say he already did?


Even Obamas Professors have turned on him

One of the Professors that taught Barry Obama at Harvard has come out with a Youtube video that calls for "The One" to be defeated in Nov. But not for the reasons you might think. Well some of the reasons you might think.



This is the same guy who said he was never "friends" with Obama even though he talked to him throughout his campaign. He claimed that he didn't want to get to close because his leftist ideas could cause Obama harm.
Seriously how much farther left can you get than Obama?

Dems with no Public Unions Fail, in other news water is wet.

On Fox News today Chris Stirewalt wrote an article that basically said out loud what everyone already knew. Dems can never survive without Unions and primarily PEU's. Why? Because as the article says its a vicious cycle:

The cycle for five decades has been that unions support the campaigns of Democrats who promise to expand the power of unions. Thus empowered, the unions have more money with which to elect more Democrats who further expand union powers. And so it goes.
