Once again we are relying on men and women in black robes to make decisions for us that we should have made years ago with elected reps. Since we didn't now we have to rely upon judges to make right what we all know to be a farce.

Rules and a treasure trove of information.
In the Dark Knight, Joker tells Batman that to get the truth he will have to break his one rule. In essence he is telling Batman he would have to kill him to stop him. While Batman ultimately is able to beat the Joker, he still loses.
We as Conservatives have one rule we live by. We refuse to destroy our morals and principals for anything. We understand that while everything goes to hell, the ability to look in the mirror in the morning and not be disgusted with what you see is extremely important. Our problem is we fight those that have no such qualms.

Shocking! Obamacare increases higher in red states.
Stop me if you have heard this one before. The President is determined to punish those that go against him or slight him in any fashion, real or perceived. For him though, the ultimate slight is having the gall to not vote for him. I mean can you imagine the nuts on those people to disrespect the chose one by voting against him? Well he will show us.

Why Ted Cruz and Mike Lee are responsible for Obamacare roll out failure.
Follow me on this one. Yes, I fully supported them in their bid to defund or delay Obamacare. I truly believe that it is the most destructive force to ever be unleashed upon the American workforce and the economy as a whole.
But look at it this way. Contrary to what Obama and HHS want to admit, they knew that the webpage was going to fail, and fail spectacularly.

Charles Boustany.. Flag Waiver
I write this as being from LA originally I try to keep up with the goings on there. When one thinks about the type of Republican that should be coming from the State of Louisiana one thinks of the type of Senator that Ted Cruz is, or the type of Congressman Trey Gowdy is. Meaning they obviously have no interest in being someone's friend or following GOP "leadership" just to get along.

Shocking Inusrance companies leaving Nebraska Exchanges
In a move that will surprise no one, well maybe the White House and Nancy Pelosi, but in my defense she is surprised at everything.
Nine companies have notified customers and the state of Nebraska that they will be leaving the individual market and in some cases the group market once the regulations come into play on Jan 1.

Cruz quasi filibuster. But will it matter? UPDATED
I’m sitting here watching Ted Cruz give his speech on the
Senate floor, and Mike Enzi just started asking his question about if there was
a better way to have done this than to wait until the last minute. Well Mike
yes, yes there was. That sir is not really the issue here, although it is a
part of the problem.

Yes, defunding Obamacare is worth shutting down the Government
In fact I think anything that prevents Congress from passing any laws for a while might be something worth looking into. Hell I would be willing to pay them more to just go away. But since they wont take that deal I guess we are stuck with them. The least they could do is something worth a damn for once. To that extent thank you, Senator Lee.

Been away but we're back
For the three of you who read this I would like to apologize for the last month of not being here. I did a move from England back to the states and getting all of that done and getting back to a point where I had a chance to sit down and pay attention, much less write something was, well, a bit of a struggle you could say.
So while I was away Sequester went through, the world didn't end, but apparently White House tours did. Not sure how much that saved us but I'm certain that we are on our way to a balanced budget due to that and that alone.
The CR that went through the Senate funded Obamacare, we are 16 trillion in debt, and can't allow people to have a tour of the White House but we can fund a monstrosity that will take up 1/6 of the economy. Yeah that makes sense. To every Republican who voted to fund Obamacare through the CR should be primaried and removed from office. They say that elections have consequences, well to every person currently residing in some cushy government elected office, you should understand that each vote you cast has consequences. If we have to deal with the crap you vote for once you get elected then you are going to have to deal with us. It is that simple.
Before I went away for a while I was one of the people saying that we should allow for sequester to go through. Congrats Republicans you didn't snatch defeat from the jaws of victory on that one. I know people say that sequester is going to hurt. I firmly believe that the only people that are going to feel the pain are the military. Which is kind of retarded but, such is life.
Now on to the budget fight.

Paul Ryan Confident in Repeal of Obamacare
I wish I could share his confidence during his interview with Breitbart. However I don't believe for a minute that Mitch McConnell or John Boehner have any kind of back bone to pull it off. I think Boehner can be forced into the vote by the actual adults in the room in the House but the Senate I fear is a lost cause.
Reid will never allow McConnell to bring the bill forward and, McConnell will fold like the cheap suit he is just so he doesn't upset the apple cart. Remember it was McConnell who killed Senator Jim Demint's bill to force the entirety of the Obamacare bill to be read on the Senate floor before it could be voted on. I guess he wanted to wait until he passed it to see what was in it.

Romney says Obamacare not a Tax and McConnel already squirming his way out of repeal.
Romney's problem stems from the fact that if he goes after Obamacare, Obama will come after him about Romneycare in Mass. So in an effort to try to walk a very fine line and not piss anyone off, he instead pisses everyone off. Well everyone that matters anyway.
McConnells problem is the same as John Boehner's, he has no spine, none, the man is a damn jellyfish. If he had a spine, we wouldn't even have Obamacare, and the debt ceiling debacle would have ended completely differently. If Boehner had a spine we wouldn't have had the Transportation-HUD bill pass recently as a combination bill so that he could get on vacation.

Is it a Tax or a Penalty?
Since the courts upheld the mandate on the basis that it is within the purview of Congress thanks to the power to tax, the Obama administration has a small problem on their hands. Yes, they got the win they wanted from the Supreme Court, but they got it in probably what was the worst possible outcome for them.
They now have to try to convince the American people that the Individual Mandate is still a penalty, even though the courts say the only way it is legal is if it is a tax.
What to do, what to do?

An amazing letter to the GOP
This is exactly what should happen. We all know it won't as I said earlier the GOP is missing their... ummm.. spine.. but sure would be fun to watch Obama's face as the bill is presented and signed to repeal is legacy right there in front of him. In fact if they every do surprise me and actually repeal it they should invite Obama to the signing ceremony.
Here is the link to the letter at Ace of Spades.

Should we trust Romney, Boehner and McConnel?
The results are in, Romney is the winner from the SCOTUS decision on Obamacare, or at least his campaign war chest is. Romney and the RNC raised 4.6 million in the hours after the decision was announced from approximately 47,000 donors. That's a lot of extra cheddar to be hanging around all of a sudden to beat Obama over the head with.
I still believe that SCOTUS got it wrong on Obamacare. It was never sold, or supposedly intended to be a "tax" however that's what the government now has. The unfettered unlimited ability to do whatever they want and call it a penalty collected by the IRS and suddenly it's Constitutional.

Holder voted in Contempt what to do now
So I said last night that it was basically a foregone conclusion that Holder was going to be struck with a contempt citation from the House yesterday. Of course I also wrote about how happy I was going to be when I found out that SCOTUS did the only logical thing and stuck down Obamacare in its entirety.
So after SCOTUS crushed my dreams of reining in federal power I actually got a little nervous about the contempt proceedings. Not because I didn't think the votes were there, but because I didn't actually trust John Boehner to actually do something that took some kind of backbone.
Although having 17 Dems vote with him probably made it a little bit easier for his spineless soul to allow it to happen though.

The portion of the Ruling on Obamacare that crushes your soul.
After reading the decision to ruin our country and give the government unfettered access to every part and decision of our lives I thought I would show the actual part of the decision that basically crapped on the constitution.
Here ya go.. Thanks again there Robers.

Mandate Upheld, Government power now uncontrollable
I had a post all ready about how we had beaten back the leviathan and were one step closer to actually limiting the power of government. So much for that. Thanks there CJ Roberts. To think that he sided with the 4 liberal justices and that Kennedy wrote the dissenting opinion and actually made sure to state that this entire bill was a farce is well depressing.
We had a chance, we had a court that I was positive would see that this was a complete over reach of government and slap them back. So much for Obama Slap-Down Day™.

Contempt vote for Holder on Thurs?
Apparently according to some Republican aides. Right now the vote is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, which could mean a couple things. Allapundit at Hot Air thinks that John Boehner and his spineless friends are trying to lessen the impact of the vote against Holder.
I can see that. But I also have another idea.

Obamacare to be struck down on Thursday
Best part is that SCOTUSBlog the opinion is being written by Chief Justice Roberts and possibly co-authored by Justice Kennedy. This is a good sign. This means at a minimum the mandate went down. Personally I don't see any of the law standing but stranger things have happened.
As most of you know I am currently in England because of that I get to actually see a single payer healthcare system in operation. I also get to hear opinions on these things from the Brits who actually have to live this.

White House preparing to be slapped down by SCOTUS.
Valerie Jarret told the National Association of Black Journalists in New Orleans Saturday that the White House is prepared for the ruling from SCOTUS. Then went on to prove that they know they are about to get smacked down by blaming the GOP for having the policy of "NO".
So we're still going to use that slogan uhn? I mean the constant budgets that were passed by the house, controlled by the GOP, made you think it is the party of no? The constant bills coming out of the House that actually push things that would create jobs, such as Keystone XL are the reason that we still have unemployment above 8% and a 16 trillion dollar debt right?
