Thad Cochran wants Democrats to win him the GOP Primary

We here at the Handbook have long contended that not including strict term limits into the Constitution was something the framers missed on. The idea that someone can spend 42 years or longer in Washington D.C. is exactly the reason we have the problems we have now. Sure some candidates go there with the best of intentions, then win a re-election, then feel invincible. Thats why no one should be allowed more than 2 terms in the House and one (1), that's right I said ONE term in the Senate. On top of that no one other than the President should be able to spend more than 6 consecutive years elected to Federal Office.

Principles and spines. Why the GOP establishment doesn't understand.

Word came out today that McConnell and the GOP establishment are hell bent on destroying a private Republican consulting firm because they had the audacity to work with the Senate Conservatives Fund. This really comes as no surprise. After all the SCF is determined to remove McConnell and his squishy friends from office.

Chuck Schumer says the Tea party is dead.. again

A breath of fresh advice and prognostication from the man more in tune with the Tea Party than possibly anyone in the country. Chuck Schumer has come out and saved us from ourselves. He has let us know that the Tea Party movement has peaked, and that the upcoming Republican caucus will be less terrorist like.

Backroom deals and the proof of a lack of spine

It was announced today that the complete surrender of the GOP is in the works. McConnell got with Reid and gave away the farm, while Boehner is making sure that the House passes the bill with Dem votes first to prevent a filibuster from Ted Cruz and Mike Lee. If you think this wasn't always the plan you've lost your mind.

An amazing letter to the GOP

This is exactly what should happen. We all know it won't as I said earlier the GOP is missing their... ummm.. spine.. but sure would be fun to watch Obama's face as the bill is presented and signed to repeal is legacy right there in front of him. In fact if they every do surprise me and actually repeal it they should invite Obama to the signing ceremony.

Here is the link to the letter at Ace of Spades.

White House preparing to be slapped down by SCOTUS.

Valerie Jarret told the National Association of Black Journalists in New Orleans Saturday that the White House is prepared for the ruling from SCOTUS. Then went on to prove that they know they are about to get smacked down by blaming the GOP for having the policy of "NO".

So we're still going to use that slogan uhn? I mean the constant budgets that were passed by the house, controlled by the GOP, made you think it is the party of no? The constant bills coming out of the House that actually push things that would create jobs, such as Keystone XL are the reason that we still have unemployment above 8% and a 16 trillion dollar debt right?

Rick and Newt both out in VA

Well this is depressing. Not so much from the fact that I wanted either of them to win, however more from the concept of now we only have Mittens and Ron Paul on the ballot in VA. That as Hot Air says is enough to make you want to indulge in some seriously hard liquor.

Liberalism vs Conservatism: What does it all mean?

Let me start by saying that I'm sure that we here at The Handbook are not the first ones to say what I am about to say, but I would like to say it in my own way. The concept of liberal vs conservative can be boiled down to one thing: Emotions.

Liberals are obsessed with them. It drives every thought process they have, every government intervention into your life that they desire, and every aspect of their lives, not to mention how they want to us it to control yours. Think about it, they tell you that we need one thing or another "for the kids" or "for your health" or "so everyone gets a fair deal" see its all built to play off of your emotions. Now that being said I do not believe their total goal is to make you get a warm and fuzzy inside. Their entire goal is to get power so that they can control your life and show you how much smarter they are than you.

When a bill gets passed by a state gov or the fed gov that does something that is suppose to keep you healthy, like your kids have to eat tofu every day at lunch, they really don't give a damn about your kids. Well if your kid is a homosexual, minority they do, other than that they are just trying to control your life that much further, but they are going to use your emotions to try to get you to go along with them.  Oh you can't find a job for almost 2 years because we keep screwing up everything that would allow jobs to grow? Well don't worry about it, my lazy friend, soon we are going to make sure that you and everyone like you get to keep your UI for as long as you need it. See emotions.

How can all those mean angry conservatives talk about splitting up all these hard working immigrant families just to send some of them back to Mexico because they crossed some line on a map and stole jobs. Granted there are rules and regulations and processes for them to come here legally but we can't be wasting that kind of time. We need them here and now. Because after all who else is going to vote for all those handouts.

Like I said everything a liberal tells you is designed to pull at your heart strings.

Now compare that to conservatives. Yes some things we do have parts based on emotion. However what we don't do is make every decision based on emotion. Most of it is based on common sense. The fact that our programs and ideas will help more people than any heart string gov handout just happens to be lagniappe (extra).

If anyone disagrees with me let me know.

Keystone XL Pipeline

So with the passage of the extension for UI benefits and the Payroll tax cut for two months. The GOP managed to not screw it up and get the Keystone XL pipeline in the bill.

Ron Paul in Iowa

I'm not really going to delve into the concept of "could" Ron Paul win Iowa. Frankly it's a caucus and no one is better organized or has more of a rabid fan base. But my real question comes from the intrigue that Hot Air threw into my mind when I was reading this post.

House Introduces No Confidence Bill for Eric Holder

Rep Paul Gosar (AZ-R) filed H. Res 490 which is a bill to force a vote of No Confidence in Attorney General Eric Holder. This should be the first step towards impeaching and removing what could possibly be the worst and least effective Attorney General in the history of this country. That being said, does this mean that they had confidence in him prior to Fast and Furious?

Why does GOP leadership hate us?

I ask this question not from one particular incident but from the conglomeration of everything they have done to stab us in the back. From the days of GWB's congress runaway spending that only got worse under democratic control to the most recent lie they told us about no omni-bus bills.

See Boehner has no backbone or principals

This from Fox News.
In a turn of events that will surprise absolutely no one. Speaker John Boehner is probably going to side with Dems and pass an Omni-bus CR since the gov will run out of money come Dec 16.

I am shocked I tell you, Shocked, Speechless even.

Schumer Believes D will pick up seats in '12

Senator Chuck Schumer is either high on something or is seriously trying to convince himself its not as bad it's gonna be. In an interview with The Hill he claimed that Democrats not only will hold their majority in the Senate but expand their lead.

#1 Reason to make sure GOP doesn't screw up in the House

Quite simple actually. If for some reason the GOP snatches defeat from the jaws of victory and loses the house. (which lets be honest, with this cast of characters isn't completely out of the realm). Guess who gets to head up the banking committee? If you guess Maxine Waters you win the door prize.

Hermain Cains Fall?

Herman Cain apparently doesn't like us here at The Handbook. Since our backing of him he seems to have gone out of his way to completely destroy his candidacy. Or maybe it's the Democratic Machine that hates us. Then again it could all possibly be coincidence.

Apologies from the Handbook

I usually try to make sure at least something gets put up here everyday. Over the last few days I've been a little busy with work and everything else and this just fell by the wayside. For all three of you who read this we at The Handbook apologize.

Add to that I really just haven't felt like doing it lately and you get what you have since the last time I posted which is nothing. But have no fear I am in the process of getting some stuff up. And soon I'll talk about what is appearing to become a disastrous backing of Herman Cain, the fact that we've proved what we always knew that congress considers themselves above the laws the pass for the rest of us, and a sudden rise from the person that I thought could make a good candidate but had too much baggage in Newt Gingrich. Oh and Perry's failure during the debate to remember the DOE and how that probably killed his chances.

So stay tuned some things will be up soon.

Why do we do this to ourselves?

Four years ago I wrote a blog on Townhall that I kept up with for about a total of 45 minutes. I have since beaten that record here. Thank you to both of you reading this.

Now four years ago remember we had about 400 people running for office it seemed and there was no way to figure out who anyone was, and the ones we knew none of us wanted. In the end we ended up with John McCain. Gee thanks guys. To everyone who believes that our current practice of picking our nominee is a good idea, please go run your head into a wall a couple dozen times. That may sound harsh but every 4 years or so that's basically what we do as conservatives. We allow a couple of selected states "cough NH, IA, SC cough" to decide who our presidential nominee is going to be. To say that I hate this process would be like saying that I only have a mild dislike of everything liberal.

UPDATED: Newest Charge against Herman Cain

I was originally going to just make this an update to the previous post about Gloria Allred and the presser scheduled for today, however I felt it deserved its own. CNN has the story and video here, while The Hill has the story here. With this one you get a face and some actual details. At first glance it doesn't look good for the Cain campaign.

Percentage of people angry with Gov higher than with Bush (I), Carter, or Ford

80% of people responding in the ABC/WAPO poll said that they were either dissatisfied or down right angry with the government. Just to put this in perspective the number for Jimmy Carter was only 77% so theres something that Obama has Carter beat at. Although I'm not sure that's exactly the place that he wanted to beat that particular president at. In fact other than Carters previous record of down right pissed offness shown by the American people George H.W. Bush was at 72%, and Gerald Ford could only muster up a 71% hatred even with the Vietnam war and pardoning Nixon.
