Just think soon they will control your healthcare too.

With the passage of Obamacare and the twisted pretzel shape that John Roberts had to get into to shove his head that far up his ass to rule it constitutional comes a glimmer of hope. Wait, no. That's not the right word. What I meant was another reason to fear for your personal freedom and wealth.

Imagine this you immigrate, legally I might add, from Iraq in 1970 in the pursuit of all that the American dream offers. You follow the rules become a citizen, open a small business, employ people in the community, work hard and become a productive member of society, unlike the moochers and fee loaders they want to legalize now. What does it get you? The IRS stealing 35,651.11of your hard earned money.

Obama's bad month spills into July

I'm sure that once SCOTUS ruled in his favor on Obamacare, Obama likely thought he was out of the woods for a continuing headache. Turns out he was wrong. In Florida, likely a very important swing state, Obama and Holder just suffered a serious setback.

A judge recently ruled that Florida was completely within its rights to purge voter rolls of people who should not be there, you know illegal immigrants, and convicted felons, and in some cases dogs. Obama, Holder and Napolitano didn't like that plan. They actually hated that plan and sued to stop it. Then they lost. Now they have given up.

Holder voted in Contempt what to do now

So I said last night that it was basically a foregone conclusion that Holder was going to be struck with a contempt citation from the House yesterday. Of course I also wrote about how happy I was going to be when I found out that SCOTUS did the only logical thing and stuck down Obamacare in its entirety.

So after SCOTUS crushed my dreams of reining in federal power I actually got a little nervous about the contempt proceedings. Not because I didn't think the votes were there, but because I didn't actually trust John Boehner to actually do something that took some kind of backbone.

Although having 17 Dems vote with him probably made it a little bit easier for his spineless soul to allow it to happen though.

CBC planning walk out during Holder's contempt vote.

In a move reminiscent of the weak minded union paid for idiots that were Democrat Reps in WI while Scott Walker tried to pass his budget reforms the Congressional Black Caucus is planning to walk out.

So the Black Caucus in a show of stupidity solidarity, will walk out to make sure the vote can't go through I assume. Of course their stated reasoning for doing this is well a bit absurd.

House Vote on Contempt Charges scheduled for 5 pm

Unfortunately since I am in England, and actually have to you know, work for a living, I will probably be asleep or close to it by the time that vote happens. Especially since votes in Congress rarely happen at their exact scheduled time.

We shall see though. It is almost a forgone conclusion that Holder will be found in Contempt this afternoon. That just raises the question of what exactly does that mean.

Someone has to bring the actual criminal charges against him in front of a Grand Jury. Since the District Attorney for D.C. Ronald Machen has to actually bring the charges. Problem is Holder is his boss. Fox News asks the question can Holder just use prosecutorial  discretion since technically the DOJ has to bring the charges against the head of the DOJ and not prosecute himself?

If he could/did do that how bad would the fallout be?

We're all wrong on Fast and Furious

That's right ladies and gentlemen, after a year and a half of investigating we finally learned the truth about Fast and Furious. Turns out, there was nothing evil there, it was just ATF agents that were hamstrung by gun fanatical prosecutors that refused to prosecute straw purchasers. Why? Because the penalties weren't harsh enough and it wasn't worth the time.

Another Dem crosses the aisle against Holder. Updated

Its slow out there today. Nothing much going on, everything and everybody waiting until tomorrow for Obama Slap-Down Day™. But on that note I did find something that will make Obama's night that much worse. How much Tums do you think he's chewing right now?

Anyway after Jim Matheson (D) of Utah said publicly that he was going to vote in favor of contempt for Eric Holder, comes another blow to Obama and his band of criminal lackies.

Rep. John Barrow (D-GA) has now come out publicly with intent to make history.

Contempt vote for Holder on Thurs?

Apparently according to some Republican aides. Right now the vote is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, which could mean a couple things. Allapundit at Hot Air thinks that John Boehner and his spineless friends are trying to lessen the impact of the vote against Holder.

I can see that. But I also have another idea.

Issa Finally Understand the point of Fast and Furious

For months now we have heard about how Fast and Furious was nothing more than a botched attempt at continuing a program that was started and subsequently shut down by the Bush Administration in Operation Wide Receiver. The biggest difference in the two was that Wide Receiver was done with Mexican co-operation and actually, you know, interdicted the guns before they could get lost.

Fast and Furious on the other hand was nothing more than pure political theater and they know it.

AG Holder Found in Contempt

Now the question becomes can Boehner keep his spine long enough to let the floor vote happen next week? I give it 50/50.

With the stonewalling finally reaching a boiling point after Congress finally tired of asking Holder and the DOJ to produce the documents relating to Fast and Furious they finally got the contempt vote completed this afternoon. Personally this should have happened about 5 minutes after he blatantly lied to Congress months ago, but I guess better late than never.

So how does this hurt Obama, can this be tied around his neck like an anchor? When does the process start with the courts to remove the Executive Privilege claim?

So much more to come.

New slogan for Obama this year:

Obama 2012, you don't need to know.

Obama Exerts Executive Privilege on F&F Docs.. Move along, Nothing to see here.

I saw the breaking news while I was at work this afternoon. (I'm in England, remember.) Obama had granted Holder's request for Executive privilege on the 2300 pages that the House Oversight committee had been asking for since well forever.

Since Holder's power point presentation didn't sway over Issa last night, and the vote for contempt was still going forward today Holder went begging to his boss for a favor. A favor Obama was more than willing to issue. Because of this Congress now has to contest Executive Privilege on all these documents so that we can find out just how deep into this Eric Holder or other members of the DOJ were involved.

Shocking. Holder still wont comply with supena.

In a turn of events that will surprise no one, Erick Holder still has not sent Issa the documents that were requested.
Issa made it clear that he doesn't care about meeting with him he only wants the documents.
The fact that the DOJ refuses to produce the documents related to the death of a federal agent while being threatened with contempt charges speaks volumes.
Bring on the vote.

Will Issa cave on Fast and Furious?

Getting home from work today, I began perusing the interwebs of news to see what I missed while I was at work. What I found wasn't completely new but it did give some more information that quite frankly pissed me off, even though it shouldn't have, I should have seen it coming.

Reports are out that Issa will meet with Holder tonight in an attempt by Holder to stop from being cited for contempt and then hopefully fired along with his boss. That in and of itself doesn't piss me off what does is this small sentence of the story

Good News! DOJ to investigate security leaks. Updated

Eric Holder has identified two U.S. attorneys to investigate where the recent surge in classified leaks came from. Ronald Machen,US attorney for DC, and Rod Rosenstein, US attorney for Maryland, will lead up the two separate investigations being run by the FBI.

Now let me save everyone some time and money. Start the investigation at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. That's where they came from. John McCain who rarely gets anything right seems to get it. Or at least he did when he was talking to Anderson Cooper

Video here.

So let's see, the same DOJ that won't prosecute the new black panther party for voter intimidation, because as Holder put it, those are "His people". The same DOJ that refuses to come clean on Fast and Furious, the same DOJ that is suing the state of FL for trying to get dead people off the voter rolls. These are the people that are going to "..doggedly follow the facts and the evidence in pursuit of justice wherever it leads."

Lets see checking the actual handbook for democrat reactions to scandals.. and yep.. odds of this investigation just slowly dying away due to unwillingness to follow it to where it should go. We at The Handbook have it somewhere north of 75%. Chances some low level scapegoat who didn't have access to the information but gets blamed anyway, well some where near 80%.

But that's just my opinion. Realistic odds of anyone ever being charged much less convicted? Somewhere south of 0.

Update: Sorry remember Handbook central is in England currently, and as such I usually get things late, or never at all, that being said I just read this post on Hot Air about how the White House is rejecting calls for an independent investigator or a Congressional investigation. Yep, definitely transparency in action right there.

Oh and we offend Obama by insinuating that the White House is the source of the leaks. Cause he would never do something like that to make himself look better.

Welcome Back to the Handbook

So I went away for a little while. To the three of you that read this, well thanks for sticking around. I came back and had just one thought. This country has lost its collective frickin mind.

I see Mittens basically has the nomination wrapped up. Great! Of all the people running this is the guy we choose? Wow we are dumb. Let's just hope he doesn't screw it up.

Of course he couldn't have an easier opponent to defeat. Well at least it's an easy opponent with people who have actually been paying attention. The rest of em well, lets just hope most of them stay home in Nov.

I also see that Bambi is missing the civility of the '08 election. Moe Lane at Redstate pretty much summed that one up nicely so just read his and tell me you don't agree.

Lets see Patterico has been SWATTED by a convicted bomber. Eric Erickson,  Aaron Walker and others have had the same done to them. Luckily for Eric he had notified his local police that something like this might happen. Aaron has been fired from his job and forced to move. Nope nothing wrong with that. Exactly what you would think would happen to someone who was exercising their first amendment right in the USSR. Wait, what was that? You said we're in the USA? Oh well then I'm sure the ACLU is rushing to his defense right? Oh still no? Hmm...
Not surprisingly Fox News is the only one that I can find picking up the story.

In other news the DOJ still doesn't like you.

We still have no jobs in this country. I'm sure that statement surprises all of you. But no really it's true. Our ability to create jobs sucks. At least that's what the Jobs Report keeps saying.

One last thing. Obama isn't even above 50% against Romney in CA. Obama is going to win CA, no one doubts that. But he Romney can keep it close and make him spend money there who know what can happen in states that can be flipped like FL, VA, OH, and maybe PA.

Once again sorry I was gone for so long. My goal is to at least put something up a little more frequent that every 3 months.

House Introduces No Confidence Bill for Eric Holder

Rep Paul Gosar (AZ-R) filed H. Res 490 which is a bill to force a vote of No Confidence in Attorney General Eric Holder. This should be the first step towards impeaching and removing what could possibly be the worst and least effective Attorney General in the history of this country. That being said, does this mean that they had confidence in him prior to Fast and Furious?

Fast and Furious vs. 2nd Amendment

" A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, and the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." 2nd Amendment

Part of what makes the case of Fast and Furious, the gun walking plot developed by ATF, State Dept, FBI, DOJ, and every other group of initials we can come up with is the questions about what exactly the purpose of the scheme was. For those of you who don't know about F&F, it was a program that allowed over 2000 guns to be "walked" across the Mexican border, mostly to the Sinola drug cartel.
