Feed on the Hate, it's all we have left

Now that Mitch McConnell and John Boehner have officially capitulated we can go ahead and start focusing on the things that are important in life. Like how to get them both out of office now. We're looking at you Ohio.

To be honest Boehner hasn't completely tucked tail just yet, but let's be honest we all know it's coming.

Is Obama squirming over sequestration?

On Jan 1st Congress and Obama made a deal that push sequestration back to March 1st. In that Obama was able to get his tax increases that he wanted on the "wealthiest Americans", and apparently the GOP managed to screw up and paint him into a corner. That is the only thing that can explain why Obama is all of a sudden willing to do a short term extension of cuts to put off sequestration for a few more months.

The fact that something the GOP did actually might work, is well, shocking. Don't think I'm going all soft on them though. Like I said, I'm pretty sure this was something they lucked into.

Ryan as VP is a great plan

I realize I haven't been around much this month. Sorry bout that. Trying to move and got a little busy and a few things suffered for it. Don't believe I haven't been thinking about this place though. We still have to stay vigilant and make sure we get Obama on the unemployment line come Nov.

All that out of the way. Congrats to Mitt Romney for not screwing this up. In Paul Ryan you have a man that will destroy Joe Biden in every debate that they have for the VP's provided Obama and Biden are man enough to actually agree to any. Which I still doubt they will agree to any more than 1 or 2 and with this pick I don't believe Obama has enough faith in Biden to go against someone like Paul Ryan and actually not look, well exactly like Joe Biden.

Just in case you forgot Republican Leadership still has no spine.

On Sept 30th the US Government is going to run out of money. How can this happen you ask? Simple a budget hasn't been passed by the US Senate in FOUR (4) years. That's how. Now there is a mad scramble to make sure that a continuing resolution gets passed before then to avert a government shutdown. Why such a rush? It's election season, didn't you get the memo? It's that time of year when nothing of substance can be done (not that it happens any other time either) for the fear of rocking the boat upsetting someone and possibly losing your job.

So Republican leadership is more than happy to negotiate cave to all Democratic demands for a 6 month CR to make sure they don't get any bad press.

Paul Ryan Confident in Repeal of Obamacare

I wish I could share his confidence during his interview with Breitbart. However I don't believe for a minute that Mitch McConnell or John Boehner have any kind of back bone to pull it off. I think Boehner can be forced into the vote by the actual adults in the room in the House but the Senate I fear is a lost cause.

Reid will never allow McConnell to bring the bill forward and, McConnell will fold like the cheap suit he is just so he doesn't upset the apple cart. Remember it was McConnell who killed Senator Jim Demint's bill to force the entirety of the Obamacare bill to be read on the Senate floor before it could be voted on. I guess he wanted to wait until he passed it to see what was in it.

Republicans hate you slightly less than Obama

Alternate headline: Republicans still don't have a backbone. Personally I liked the one I put up there, and since I write the damn thing I'll do what I want.

Now on to the actual point of this post. the 2013 Transportation - HUD conglomeration of bills that should have all been voted on individually, passed while reducing the total cost by 3.9 billion less than last year. Good news right? Well since we spent 3.6 trillion last year, and only took in 2.3 trillion that means we saved .003% of our deficit last year. That means we only have 99.997% left to find, just to break even. Or to put it in a number that you understand, we only need to find $1,296,100,000,000 more of wasteful spending in the budget right?

No more Federal funding of Nominating Conventions

From The Hill.

At least that's what is going to happen if Tom Coburn (R-OK) and Mark Udall (D-CO) get passage of the bill they are sponsoring.

"Voluntarily returning convention funds would be a great act of leadership and statesmanship for both parties. Nevertheless, it’s time for Congress to act and end the practice of subsidizing annual convention parties with taxpayer dollars," Coburn said in a statement on Monday.

If it passes the 36.6 million that would go to the conventions every 4 years will instead be returned to the treasury to pay down the debt. Before we all get excited lets realize just how little this will take away from our 15 trillion dollar debt.

So this is what Congress does to make you think they care or have changed. 36 million over 4 years. Just like that (get out calculator) and we are looking at 9 million a year. That works out to just right around .000006% of our debt being paid each year with this. Well there we go. Finally the Tea Party can lay down and relax. The adults in the room have finally fixed the problem.

Excuse me but its complete crap. Don't get me wrong I'm glad we no longer have to pay for the conventions but lets be honest 1) 9 million isn't gonna make any kind of dent in the debt. 2) Why were we ever funding these things to begin with?

1.2 trillion more we owe the Chinese

Shockingly the money we allowed Obama to have with the earlier debt limit raising wasn't enough. To compound that ignorance and stupidity by McConnell and Boehner we can't stop or make a public spectacle about Obama asking for another 1.2 trillion in debt limit increase.

See Boehner has no backbone or principals

This from Fox News.
In a turn of events that will surprise absolutely no one. Speaker John Boehner is probably going to side with Dems and pass an Omni-bus CR since the gov will run out of money come Dec 16.

I am shocked I tell you, Shocked, Speechless even.
